Weekly Updates/IMM (10)

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Its just me (Donna) today as I mentioned earlier in the week, Jessica is partying it up in Brighton for the weekend. She will be back tomorrow. :)
Before I get started, I've added a small poll on the right hand side of the blog. I've been meaning to start to a few series but I'd love to hear your thoughts on what series I should start. So please feel free to vote and I will read the series with the most votes. Anyway....I'm just going to cut to the chase and get on with the updates.

Donna's In My Mailbox

Brought Books
I've started Dark Heart Rising already and although I said I wasn't going to rush out and buy it, I did. I enjoyed the first book in the series but it didn't blow me away, so I'm hoping this one is a little better. I also actually brought Kissed by an Angel a few weeks ago but I forgot all about it, so I'm including it now :)

Swapped Books

Kindle Books
I recently read the first book to this series Moonlight (review to come soon) and I did really enjoy it, so I thought I'd get the other books to read. However, I didn't buy these my friend Lindsey got them me so a MASSIVE thank you to her :)

ARC's for Review - Thank you S&S
Yay! I'm really excited about these books. You all know I've just been introduced to this genre and all the books by Jennifer Echols have been excellent. so far. To say the least I'm looking forward to getting started.

Brought Books
After reading Perfect Chemistry, I felt I needed something else similar to read and I was recommended Jennifer's books from a few people. I do hope I enjoy them :)

Swapped Books - Thanks Lynn
While eagerly awaiting the release of the new Iron Fey book, I thought I might try a new Fae series. To be honest, I haven't heard much about this series, so if anyone has read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts?

Won Books
As you all know I won Wolfsbane last week but it arrived this week so I wanted to include it again and show you a  picture. Andrea wrote inside "To Book Passion for Life,  thank you for sharing your love of reading with others. Keep on the wild hunt." So sweet! My review has already been posted and it was an amazing book.

City of Fallen Angels, I won a few weeks ago but it only just arrived because of the international post. I won it off Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads. I was super excited for this to arrive because not only did Mindy get me the hardback copy BUT she also got me the special edition by Barnes & Noble with the letter from Jace and Clary. How cool is she?
I posted some photo's for you to look too. Its really amazing! I'm so please. I'd just like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Mindy :) You should all check out her blog too, she's been blogging for just a few months but she's come a long way and the blog is one of my favourites :)

I also won a £9 gift voucher for Amazon from Birgit The Book Garden last Sunday. And guess what? I STILL haven't spend it! Lol I'm still not sure what to buy, I may wait and buy Fins are Forever by Tera Lynn Childs in June :)

The Mortal Instrument Extras
Posted and owned by Cassandra Clare

How many of you are fans of The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. Well, as you know we love it so we hope you do  to. We recently found out that Cassandra Clare has all these little out takes and deleted scenes from the books on her website. So we just wanted to share it with you all, incase you didn't know.  Cassandra even explains why each story didn't make it into the story which we found quiet interesting. Donna has actually read them all and found them really enjoyable. We'd love to hear what you think. Here are the links:

We hope you enjoy them. We think Cassandra is fantastic for releasing these. Its good to see some of the scene's that didn't make it into the books and with some, we do agree with her that they were best left out.
Anyway, what's your favourite? We LOVED "Manor House with Jace and Clary" So cute :)

Its been another busy week for me here. I keep buying or swapping books and I should really stop. Lol My to be read list is getting out of hand BUT I enjoy getting new books.....so, here's what I got this week.

Brought Books

Swapped books on UK Swap Group.  Thank You Lindsey!

Kindle Books
Betrayal was only 71p from Amazon.UK so I honestly couldn't resist it. I was trying to find the paperback copy but for some reason I couldn't. Maybe its not released yet.

To review
As most of you know I recently read and reviewed Seven Kinds of Ordinary Catastrophes for Amber, I was thrilled to review her work for her as I'm a massive fan of her Fenestra Series. So you can imagine my shock when I received an email from Amber with Wildcat Fireflies ARC attached for me. I actually screamed a little! lol. Even though she's heard it already, I'd just like to say another Thank You to Amber for giving me the chance to read and review it :)

Books I Won
I won Wither on UK Swap Shop - So excited to read it :) BUT, Wolfsbane, I guess I'm kind of cheating with this one because I haven't actually received it as yet.  I couldn't wait for it to arrive before I told you all that I won it on Twitter on Friday night! Yep, you heard me Twitter! Andrea Cremer was doing a 'hot hot hot' giveaway and all you had to do was write what you want to happen between Shay & Calla in Wolfsbane and I WON!! I screamed when I got the email from Andrea. I'm so excited and I can't wait to review it. :)

That's it for me this week - What's in your mailbox? Please leave me the link below so I can pop over :)

Hey! There's quiet a few books that I've had over the last two weeks. So I'm just going to provide a photo and the links to Goodreads for each book. I could sit and talk about these books all day! I'm excited to read every single one of them.

Swapped books with UK Swap Shop on Goodreads. - Thank you Lindsey!

Won off Goodreads.com First Reads.
I was so excited when I got an email saying I'd won this book. I've wanted to read it for ages but the fact I got a signed book and two bookmarks was amazing. I can't wait to review it. Little message from author saying "Always believe in yourself" I may do a giveaway with this book once I've read it depending on how much I enjoy it but of course, I'll let you all know.

Cover change for Hades by Alexandra Adornetto

Okay guys, we recently posted the cover reveal for Hades by Alexandra Adornetto BUT, since the first cover was revealed it seems to have changed. If you see the photo, the first picture is of what was originally revealed and now the second picture is different. To be honest, we're not quiet sure which one will be the cover design. Lol.
Anyway, which one do you prefer?

Donna:  I love the second cover. Even though the picture is the same, I much prefer the colours. The pinks and reds stand out that much more.
Jess: I haven't read this book yet, but I'll admit I love the second cover a lot better than the first. Its more dramatic. It just catches my eye a lot more.

That's all for this weeks updates. We hope it was insightful. Don't forget to keep stopping by for our new giveaways that are coming up shortly. Happy reading everyone :)
