It’s been one year since the brutal murder of her older sister, Zoë, and fifteen-year-old Echo is still reeling from the aftermath. Her parents are numb, her friends are moving on, and the awkward start to her freshman year proves she’ll never live up to her sister’s memory. Until Zoë’s former boyfriend Marc shows up with Zoë’s diary.

At first Echo’s not interested, doubting there’s anything in there she doesn’t already know. But when curiosity prevails, she starts reading, becoming so immersed in her sister’s secret world, their lives begin to blur, forcing Echo to uncover the truth behind Zoë’s life so that she can start to rebuild her own.

Prepare to laugh your heart out and cry your eyes out in this highly addictive tale as Alyson Noël tackles the complicated relationship between two sisters and shows how the bond can endure long after one of them is gone.

The Review: Alyson Noël was one of the first authors I ever read after reading Twilight, and I have to admit she really had me hooked with her Immortal Series. Admittedly it’s been a while since I’ve picked up any of her books but when I came across Saving Zoë on Audible UK, I thought I’d try it because I haven’t tried any YA contemporary by Alyson so far.

Saving  Zoë is just over 6 hours long to listen to and I have to say within a few minutes I couldn’t stop listening. I literally spent my whole Sunday afternoon listening to this book while making Christmas cakes and I had so much fun, even though the book is based on such a hard subject. Zoë – Echo’s older sister is murdered and Echo and her family – including Zoë’s boyfriend Marc, are still struggling with her death. When Marc gives Echo Zoë’s diary, Echo is given the chance to truly get to know and understand her sister – but will she take it?

I really did enjoy this story – so much more than I originally thought I would. Its money well spent if you ask me. I wasn’t looking for anything to complicated, I wanted a short and enjoyable read and that’s what I got, but I also go so much more because it was emotional, gripping and mysterious too. All you really know from the start of the book is that Zoë was murdered, but you don’t know why or by who until later on, and by Echo reading her diary, you also get to know Zoë and what happened before her death. I really enjoyed it. It felt as though Zoë was there all the way through and even though I felt Zoë was a normal teenager, she just made a few mistakes along the way but for her, she paid a very high price for them.

I really enjoyed Echo’s character too. She goes through so much with the death of her sister that she will do anything to try and hold on to her – even going after her sister’s boyfriend. Echo and Marc have a complicated relationship, they meet to talk about Zoë and find a common ground but that’s about it. I was kind of rooting for them to be together but I guess it could never really work because although Zoë is gone, she is still a very big part of their lives. Not only that but there’s secondary characters that play a huge part in the story too, which was great because it added that little bit more to the story.

Overall, Alyson Noël disappoint me with Saving Zoë and I’m definitely going to be looking out for more of her contemporary novels.

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Immortals comes a breathtaking new saga brimming with magic, mystery, and an intoxicating love story that will steal your heart away. Meet The Soul Seekers.

Strange things are happening to Daire Santos. Crows mock her, glowing people stalk her, time stops without warning, and a beautiful boy with unearthly blue eyes haunts all her dreams. Fearing for her daughter’s sanity, Daire’s mother sends her to live with the grandmother she’s never met. A woman who recognizes the visions for what they truly are—the call to her destiny as a Soul Seeker—one who can navigate the worlds between the living and dead. There on the dusty plains of Enchantment, New Mexico, Daire sets out to harness her mystical powers. But it’s when she meets Dace, the boy from her dreams, that her whole world is shaken to its core. Now Daire is forced to discover if Dace is the one guy she's meant to be with...or if he’s allied with the enemy she's destined to destroy.

The Review: When I first heard about Fated, I immediately added it to my ‘to be read’ pile because I enjoyed the author’s other series 'The Immortals', so it’s safe to say, I was pretty excited to read something else by her. But after reading this book, I have to admit, I really struggled with it because, while I thought Fated had a lot of promise, the story just fell a little flat for me.
<
Daire is a young girl who starts having hallucinations.  They are being called hallucinations by her mother and her doctors and they plan to have Daire committed. But when Daire’s long lost grandmother comes back into the picture after 16 years, she take’s Daire under her wing and teaches her the real meaning of the hallucinations – there actually not hallucinations but visions. Daire’s a Soul-Seeker and she has a big role to play in order to fulfil her destiny, but there’s one boy that could shatter everything for Daire and she has to figure out if she’s meant to be with him or if he’s the enemy.
<
So I’ll admit, when I first started Fated I was intrigued. The first few chapters really grabbed my attention and I was dying to read more but as I read, I lost interest fairly quickly. The start of the story follows Daire going through her struggles with the visions but it was all just so slow. Most of the first part of the book surrounded Daire complaining about how unhappy she is and all the while, I was dying for something to happen. More importantly I wanted to find out why she was having the visions but it was a good 120 pages before I found out. I did however, really enjoy the reveal of Daire’s destiny but it was very short lived as soon as it happened, the story went back to Daire complaining and going back and fourth between what she wants. Even the romance isn't really introduced to the story until nearly half way through. It was a little frustrating.
<
The characters for me didn’t really stand out and I didn’t really have any real connection with them – which is what I need from a book. I did like Daire to start with but in the end, I found her to be a very whiney character. She sometimes came across quite mean and in her defence – she’s just lashing out at her mother for leaving her with her grandmother but sometimes it was uncalled for.
>
All in all, Fated has a good premise and an interesting story but overall it’s just not for me. If you’re already a fan of this authors work then I’d highly recommend you try this.

The Blurb from Goodreads: Everlasting is the sixth and final instalment of the epic love story that has enchanted readers across the world. Ever and Damen have spent centuries facing down bitter rivals, jealous friends and their own worst fears-all in the hope of being together forever. Now in Everlasting, their destiny is finally within reach.  Will they be united-or torn apart forever?

***Possible Spoilers***

The Review: Ever since I read Evermore a few years ago I was hooked on this series, however after Blue Moon, I think the series took a bit of a turn and I ended up not really enjoying the books. With Everlasting being the last in the series decided not to expect much but I’m glad to say that the series got back on track.

The Sixth and final instalment of The Immortal Series. Everlasting starts with Ever and Damen going on another journey to try and find a cure so they can finally be together. While in Summerland they stumble upon a guide named Lotus who explains they need to go where it all started, back to the beginning for our young couple. Thinking they have already visited all the past lives….Have they missed one that neither them have visited before? And what is Evers’ true destiny that awaits her?

I have to say now, I’m FINALLY glad this series is over. Although I do like the series, I do think (like most people) that the stories were dragged out far too much. I completely lost interest after Blue Moon and I don’t think I every really got that interest back. Even when I started Everlasting, it still held no interest in the story other than I wanted to know how it ended. And yes! I was so tempted to flip to the back page and see if finally our characters get the happy ending we all hoped for but I’m so glad I didn’t.

Everlasting is great! Once you get through the first few chapters you get thrown in to an exciting story where all our unanswered questions are finally revealed. Not only was the story exciting but it kept me interested all the way through. I loved that we got to see another past life of our characters, one that I completely enjoyed and it was also nice to see a deeper meaning behind it too. The overall story was tied up nicely. I wasn’t expecting appearances from Roman, Haven & Drina but I loved how their journey ended and I loved how Jude, Ava, Miles and the Twins all have happy endings too. Nice touch Alyson.

Ever & Damon….well I’m just over the moon that they got what they wanted. I have to ask were the readers left disappointed with the act itself? I hope not! I think Alyson managed to write that scene very tastefully, beautifully and oh so romantic. The love that the characters have for on another truly come out and leave you thrilled that there finally so happy.

Overall….Everlasting was a good book and had a great ending. One I think all readers will enjoy!
