US vs UK (#58)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 58th US vs UK book cover battle.

The idea of this battle is once a week we'll post 2 sets of books of our choice, one US cover and one UK cover, and we'll just give our opinion on which one we love the most. Which cover captures the story, which one would catch our eye if we saw it on the shelf in a shop. The US cover will be on the left, and the UK cover will be on the right.

The Scores so far are:
US: 16 UK: 18  Draw: 24

US vs UK Round 58

 Blink Once by Cylin Busby

Blink Once VS Blink Once

Donna says:  I just got this book for review and while I like both, I think the UK stands out a lot more. More to do with the fonts they've used.

Jess says: Ooh I like both, but I agree with Donna. I think the font they've used really brings out the cover and it would definitely make me pick it up.

Add it to your Goodreads TBR list:

Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi

Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2)   VS  Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2)

Donna says: Awww I love both! I really like both but I guess I'll go with US because PERRY is there! Yay!!

Jess says: I still have to read book 1 (I will get around to it). I like both, but because there's a hot man on the cover of the US, I'm going with that lol.

US vs UK (#57)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 57th US vs UK book cover battle.

US: 16 UK: 18  Draw: 23

US vs UK Round 57

She's So Dead to Us by Kieran Scott

She's So Dead to Us (He's So/She's So #1) VS She's So Dead To Us

Donna says:  I just recently read this series and I have to say, I really like both covers....however the winning vote for me, goes to the US BUT only because the UK covers don't all match.

Jess says:  I read this a while back. I actually like both. I'm going with the US because I like that they've used real models, and the way they are all standing matches the story pretty perfectly.

Add it to your Goodreads TBR list:

Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan

Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1)  VS  Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1)

Donna says: Both covers reflect the book so much but I have to say I prefer the UK cover. I love that we see both Kami and Jared and well Jared is hot!

Jess says: I haven't read this one but I'd like to. I really like both of these covers, but I think I' prefer the UK because it looks like it fits in with the story a lot better.

US vs UK (#56)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 56th US vs UK book cover battle.

US: 16 UK: 18  Draw: 22

US vs UK Round 56

 Love? Maybe by Heather Helper

Love? Maybe VS Love? Maybe.

Donna says:  I only came across this book on Friday and I know it's one I want to read when it's released. It sounds like a fun read but cover wise, I have to go with the UK. I really like both covers but I think the colours (red) on the UK stands out more and I also like that the girl is in the picture and the fonts used on the cover too are better than the US.

Add it to your Goodreads TBR list:

Adam and Eve by Katherine Applegate & Michael Grant

Eve and Adam  VS

Donna says: This one is a pretty easy pick for me and I have to go with the US. Compared to the UK one, it doesn't stand a chance. The UK one is pretty boring and it doesn't scream "READ ME" I love the US for the apple and how it looks like a jigsaw and I like how the E and D on the title is back to front. A great cover from the US!

US vs UK (#55)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 54th US vs UK book cover battle.

US: 16 UK: 18  Draw: 21

US vs UK Round 55

Bared to You by Sylvia Day

Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) VS  Bared to You (Crossfire, #1)

Jess says: Ah I loved this book! I actually don't really like either of these I prefer the original one with Gideon on the front, BUT if I had to choose? Then I pick the US for the cuff links because they fit the story a lot more. God this book is so awesome!

Donna says:  I literally just finished this book and all I can say is wow! But the covers, I actually love both, however now reading the book, I understand the US cover a lot more. So I'm going with the US because of what the design on the cuffs mean.

Add it to your Goodreads TBR list:

When It Happens by Susane Colasanti

When It Happens VS  When It Happens

Jess says: Ooh not heard of this book, need to add it to my TBR I think. I like both of these, but I have to agree with Donna, the UK seems a lot more fun and out there. I think this type of US cover has been done, it seems this cover gets reused a lot.

Donna says: This is a pretty easy choice for me and I'll say it now, UK! It's looks so much fun and it's very eye catching. It's makes me want to pick up the book straight away, where as the US one looks a bit dated. I think they could do with re-designing it.

US vs UK (#54)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 54th US vs UK book cover battle.

US: 15  UK: 18  Draw: 21

US vs UK Round 54

 Shadow Bound by Rachel Vincent

Shadow Bound (Unbound, #2)VS  Shadow Bound (Unbound, #2)

Jess says: I'm going with the US. I haven't read this one yet, but I want to so badly, I loved the first one. I definitely prefer the US cover, it'll match my UK cover. It just gives off a better vibe from the book.

Donna says:  I really don't know why the UK publishers decided to change their covers for this series. I much prefer the US one, it's so pretty. The UK cover doesn't really give the same feel, it's kind of boring in my opinion.

Add it to your Goodreads TBR list:

The Secret Circle: The Divide by L.J Smith

The Divide (The Secret Circle, #4) VS

Jess says: I really like both, but I think I'm going with the US. It's just giving off something better than the UK and it would make me want to pick it up. I think I will read this series, I really enjoyed the tv show and I'm gutted that they cancelled it so I think it's best for me to read the books to get more of the series.

Donna says:  I loved this series so I'm excited to continue but cover wise, I'm going with the US again. Although the covers are similar, I much prefer the font on the US and I like that the girl is in the background rather than so up close like the US.

US vs UK (#53)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 53rd US vs UK book cover battle.

US: 13  UK: 18  Draw: 21

US vs UK Round 53

The Statistical Probability of  Love of First Sight by Jennifer E.Smith

The Statistical Probability of Love at First SightVS  The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

Jess says:  I've recently read this book. And I prefer the US just because it's focused on Hadley and Oliver in the airport that's blurred, it fits perfectly with the story itself. I love it, so definitely US for me.

Donna says: I really like both of these covers but I have to say I prefer the UK cover. It looks so much fun and I love how the writing is done by the plane.

Add it to your Goodreads TBR list:

Breathe by Susan Crossan

Breathe (Breathe, #1) VS  Breathe (Breathe, #1)

Jess says: Oooooh not heard of this book before, but I love both of these covers. BUT if I'm going to choose I would pick the US, it's just soo kool!

Donna says:  US! US! US! There's no choice for me, the US one is stunning. I love the colours, I love the  floor, I love how it looks like a dome and the people are there. The UK one is really bright and colourful but it's so boring compared to the US one.

US vs UK (#52)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 51st US vs UK book cover battle.

US: 13  UK: 18  Draw: 20

US vs UK Round 52

 Rift by Andrea Cremer

Rift (Nightshade Prequel, #1)VS  Rift

Jess says:  I like both of these but I think I have to go with the UK just because the cover theme seems to have stuck with the UK covers for her Nightshade series. So UK for me.

Donna says:  I love both of these covers and I love the US one because we can see Ember with her weapon but I love the UK one for the all the colour. The US seem to have gone more with the theme of Ember and her strength, were as the UK have played on the love story. I prefer the US cover for the meaning behind it but I only know this because I've read the book.  But if I hadn't of read the book, I'd pick the UK because of how eye catching it is, so UK for me.

Add it to your Goodreads TBR list:

Hysteria by Megan Miranda

Time Between Us VS  Time Between Us

Melanie says: Oooh I like both of these as well, but I think I prefer the US a lot more, it just seems to grab me a lot more and I know I'd pick it up from the shelf. So US for me.

Donna says:  The covers are quite similar, they both picture the girl and then man in the background. But when I pick a book, I usually go with the one that grabs my attention and the US one grabs it more. So US for me.
