We have some exciting news for you today from Penguin UK! In January their launching 'Penguin Chats' – a series of Twitter chats with some of the authors of their biggest YA brands. And their kicking this off with Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the authors of Beautiful Creatures.It will all start on Sunday 27th January @ 8pm for 30 minutes, during which time Kami @kamigarcia) and Margaret (@mstohl) will be there to answer questions on the book, the movie and anything else you guys may be interested in. The part Kami and Margaret most enjoyed writing…
Kami: I love to write dramatic scenes and dark scenes. Whenever the stakes and the drama are high, I am usually in the zone. A close second would be writing Amma or the Sisters, because they all remind me of the ladies in my Southern family.
Margaret: I always love the bits between Ethan and Lena. Young love! I adore Ethan, he's really just such a good guy. I also think Ethan and Link are quite funny together, so those are fun to write.
The part of Beautiful Creatures that was the most difficult to write…
Kami: The part that was re written the most was definitely the prologue. It felt like we wrote it 100 times.
Margaret: The ending. We actually submitted the book with one ending and then wrote a different one during revisions - that radically changed the entire arc of the series!
