After Nara prevents a bombing at Blue Ridge High, her ability to see the future starts to fade, while people at school are suddenly being injured at an unusually high rate.

Grappling with her diminishing powers and the need to prevent another disaster, Nara meets Ethan Harris, a mysterious loner who seems to understand her better than anyone. Ethan and Nara forge an irresistible connection, but as their relationship heats up, so do her questions about his dark past.

The Review: You all know how much I loved P.T Michelle's first book 'A Brightest Kind of Darkness' so I've been waiting impatiently  for the release of Lucid, I needed to be back in this amazing world that P.T has created and I needed to be back with these fantastic characters. And what I got from Lucid was a whole load of awesomeness and more!
.
In Lucid, we see's Nara seek out answer's to all the mysterious questions surrounding her, Ethan and the Ravens, but while she seeking the questions, Nara is in more danger than ever........ Can Nara survive the danger's of her life? Or will Fate get what he wants?
.
Lucid was a fantastic sequel. It was fast paced, exciting and dangerous, one that was full of twists and turns and P.T doesn't make this book predictable. I honestly didn't know what was coming next and the twists that she does throw in are completely amazing. I loved that we saw Nara stepping out on her own to find out the answers and I loved that she was so determined. She finds out so many answers but they lead to so many more questions, and I need to know what will happen next. She also grows a lot through this book and I felt a lot of that was down to Ethan not being there. He is away for most of 80% of the book and even though there are a few phone calls, they don't talk all that much. I missed his presence but when he came back, he completely consumed me and I just melt. I adore all the moments with Ethan in and I'm dying to find out the answer's and mysteries that are surrounding him.
We also see a new character named Drystan who is introduced. He has secrets of his own, and it was great to unravel him but I was glad he was just a friend to Nara.
.
All in all, Lucid  is a heart-pounding and consuming read, one that any paranormal fan should pick up. I cannot wait for book three because I am dying to see how it all ends!
.
A big thank you to P.T Michelle for giving me the opportunity to review this book and also a huge thank you her editor who used my quote on the back of BKoD book!

Hey Everyone. Today we have a very special guest.....yes....we have P.T Michelle on the blog doing a author interview. If haven't already heard me gushing about her book, then check out my review above because I absolutely loved it. Hi P.T! Welcome!

Three Random Questions:

Favourite Animal:
It's absolutely 100% (wo)man's bestfriend, the dog. Ever since I was old enough to own a pet, I've had a dog (or two) in my life. :)
Favourite Song of 2011: Adele's Someone Like You
Favourite Movie: Pride and Predjudice

Describe yourself in three words:
Friendly, Loyal and Fair.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I love thriller and action-adventure movies, curling up with a good book and mocha lattes. I enjoy solving mysteries and figuring out puzzles...and people watching. People fascinate me. I lean heavily toward the "feelngs and artsy" side of the spectrum, which is ironic considering what I studied in school. People are often surprised to learn my background is in Business and Finance, not Literature or English. It just took me over a decade to figure out I much prefer creating fictional worlds to share with readers, and now that I've found my passion, I will continue to create stories as long as I can.

When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?
I started writing my first book in college, but over a decade passed before I began to write again. In that year, I started, completed and sold my first book...and I've never looked back since. :)

How did you choose the genre you write in?
I love the idea that there is more out there than we can physically see and understand. Plus, writing about the paranormal is so much fun! The genre allows for tons of interesting storylines.

Where do you get your ideas?
Everywhere! Movies, books, songs, news stories, myths and legends. The list is endless.

Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination? Ninety-nine percent of what I write is pure fiction, but every once in a while something might sneak in, like the scene where Lainey pierces Nara's ears. That's how my best friend pierced my ears.

What was your favourite chapter (or part) to write and why?
I loved writing all the tension scenes between Nara and Ethan. I enjoyed building the affection and attraction between them. But I'd have to say the very last chapter of the book is my favourite.

How did you come up with the title?
I was brainstoming title ideas with one of my kids and writing words down on a notecard. Then I stared to rearrange the words and play with variations of the words "dark, bright and light, and that's what triggered the title BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS.

Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or is there a theme or idea you’d love to work with?
I've worked with the concept of light and dark. Now I'd like to play with the gray area. That can be both challenging and intriguing to create a character who rides the line but is still one the reader will cheer for.

What do you do when you are not writing?
I take pictures. Whenever the sky streaks with unusual colors, I snap shots. Most of my pictures are usually nature shots, but only the odd and unusal. I often share pics on my Scenic Sunday blog posts.

What project are you working on now?
Right now I'm working on LUCID. This is a novella that bridges the gap of time between books 1 and 2 in the BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS series.

Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
THANK YOU for loving Ethan and Nara's story and for talking about BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS with other readers, recommending the book to friends, and posting the cover on your websites. I've just been so thrilled to see readers' and book bloggers' wonderful support of BKoD!

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions P.T. Good Luck with the book!!!! And guys....don't forget to leave P.T you're comments below.

The Review:

Ethan clasped my wrist and pulled me into his arms, holding me close. “I’ll always be here for you.”

You know I first rated this book a four after finishing it but something didn’t sit right with me about just giving it a four rating. So I changed it to 4.5 and now, while I’m writing this review I still don’t think that’s enough. So yep now I’m rating it 5 and here’s why.

The story follows Nara Collins, a sixteen year old girl, who dreams the events of the following day…..every night. Knowing what will happen the next day does have its advances, especially when Nara can aces tests and save every goal for her Soccer team. But things soon turn nasty when Nara prevents a bombing at her High School, she loses her ability to see the future and people at school are suddenly being injured.

When Nara comes across Ethan, the school loner and outcast, Nara can’t help feel drawn to him especially with him being the only person who seems to understand her. As Nara and Ethan develop a friendship, sparks soon start flying but what they’re not prepared for, is the danger that is a suddenly surrounding them due to the connection they have. Soon they find out that Fate is real and can they stop people getting hurt without getting hurt in the process?

Can I just say I loved this book? Wow! It’s one of them books that are completely compelling from start to finish and even now I’ve finished it, I need more! P.T Michelle certainly knows how to pack a thrilling and dangerous ride, one that gave me the chills and totally turned me into a bundle of nerves while reading it.

Brightest Kind of Darkness is a unique story with no Vampires, Werewolves or Faeries in sight; the whole idea of trying to beat Fate is truly freshing and exciting. You honestly don’t know what will happen next, your left guessing and trying to figure things out but you can’t because P.T Michelle throws a few spanners in the works that leaves this story totally unpredictable.

The characters are fantastic. Nara is a down to earth girl that is easy to love. She’s positive and strong and even though things are totally crazy in her life, she still manages to do the right thing by doing what she believes in. There were times I also felt for her. Her father left her and her mother at a very young age and that has clearly affected her. Now Ethan, I adore Ethan. Seriously, I want to marry him. He comes across as a trouble teen but as soon as Nara starts to get to know him, you see that it’s all a front. He’s a deep, loveable character and totally swoon worthy. I loved watching his and Nara’s relationship develop. It wasn’t rushed or forced but it felt natural and at a steady pace and the suspense between these two…oh my! Let’s just say I had a few butterflies in my stomach a few times especially when Ethan’s feelings for Nara showed, I loved how honest he was. Yep….he’s a total winner.

The mystery that surrounds the story will definitely keep you on your toes. Just when you think you’ve finally got some answers, more questions appear and I am dying to know what will happen next. I’m going to assume Nara’s father will make an appearance in Book Two, well I hope so. I have a feeling he’s going to shed us some answers, either that or reveal a few startling secrets. Either way I’m looking forward to it.

Overall, Brightest Kind of Darkness is a fresh, thrilling and compelling read. It’s almost got a Final Destination feel to the book but P.T does make this book her own. I can’t help but ask myself, why isn’t this book been picked up by a publisher? Publishers…..seriously you’re missing out. I so want this book sitting on my shelf and I for one am thankful this book was bought to my attention because like I said, it’s not one you want to miss out on.

Thank You to P.T Michelle for giving me the opportunity to review this book.
