While investigating a government cover-up, former FBI agent Mitch Monroe is framed for murder. A wanted man, Mitch has no choice but to stay off the grid, and he needs Special Agent Caroline Foster—the FBI’s top sniper and a woman who wants nothing to do with him—to clear his name.

After sharing a single night of simmering passion with Mitch a year ago, Caroline hasn’t been able to get him out of her head. Or her heart. He's jeopardized her job once…helping him now could end her career. But a friend has been murdered, and no matter how Caroline feels about Mitch, he's not the killer. She needs answers, and she needs Mitch Monroe out of her life once and for all.

On the run and with no one to turn to, Mitch and Caroline can’t fight the reigniting passion between them. She’ll lose her career if she proves Mitch is innocent…he’ll lose his life if she doesn’t.

The Review: Misty Evans and Adrienne Giordano are back with the second instalment of the thrilling Justice Team series.
This time around we have Mitch Monroe; we had met Mitch in book one and I for one was very curious about the man who was a ghost and lived off the grid, so was thrilled to be getting his story. Within the first chapter we get a good feel for who Mitch is and how he’s living and then bam! by the end of that chapter…. Mitch is framed for murder and his already fugitive status just sent him straight to the top of his former colleagues’ to-do lists. Needing help he turns to Special Agent Caroline Foster, not only a top agent but also a top sniper and the woman he spent one incredible night with. Caroline has never forgotten Mitch, he broke her heart when he ran and cut all contact with her but she knows Mitch did not do the crimes he is accused of, so when he tells her about another friends death and she checks out those claims…. She decides she will put the past behind her and help him clear his name. Yet again she finds her career in jeopardy through Mitch but if what they uncover is true… they really need to blow this case wide open, not only in the hopes of freeing Mitch but to catch the real culprits… not only putting their lives in danger…. But their hearts.
This is yet another movie worthy book filled with intensity, passion, injustice, action and romance that hits all the spots for me. I mentioned that Mitch had caught my interest in book one, I liked his character then so I was definitely invested in his book and that opening chapter was definitely a shocker but what a great way to open the book because it hooked you in straight away. It was nice to get Mitch’s background and I really enjoyed his connection to Caroline, you got the sense of familiarity between them from the outset, they both ‘knew’ each-others in and outs and that’s without the intimacy between them. They made a brilliant team investigation wise, fitting so well with each other, knowing how each others thoughts, that gave a really deep feel to not only their professional relationship but their personal one too and I also liked how their different personality types complimented each other. It stands to reason that if they work so well professionally that they work intimately too, giving us some very steamy moments but with feeling too.
The storyline is definitely where it’s at and if you have read the first book in the series, you will know what type of plot we will be in for. What we have here is a tense political thriller sprinkled with romance and as I mentioned before – would make an amazing movie. We have murder, a man on the run trying to clear his name, a woman willing to risk it all for a man, conspiracy theories, gun running, sabotage, near death situations, a complex investigation that needs cracking and some good old sexytime - We even get a good few Justice Greystone scenes and see his operation in action, showing its full potential. It was tense, exciting, edge of your seat stuff where you can really become invested in the characters and their lives, where you want to see justice prevail and the bad guys ass get handed to him… it’s good, really good! And I can’t wait for more. 4.5*s

In this first book in a thrilling new romantic suspense series…

Justice “Grey” Greystone was fired from the FBI for insubordination. Now the FBI wants him to use his renegade skills to take down a serial killer who’s above the law. To trap the Lion, Grey will need to send the perfect woman undercover.

Sydney Banfield runs a women’s shelter and bends the law daily to help victims of abuse escape their painful lives. Three of the women she’s recruited for government jobs have become victims of the Lion. If Syd has her way, the vicious killer will never touch another woman again.

Grey and Sydney set a trap—with Sydney as the sexy bait—but the Lion adds a complex twist to his homicidal agenda. With Sydney’s life on the line, Grey must race against the clock to catch a killer who’s as unstoppable as he is evil.

The Review: 4.5 Flowers!

This is another excellent novel by Misty Evans, this time collaborating with Adrienne Giordano and bringing us a great murder mystery in the political world…
The synopsis is spot on in its description as we meet Justice ‘Grey’ Greystone who is not above bending the law to snare the bad guy and Sydney Banfield who will always put the safety of a woman in need over laws any day. Both are great characters and both admirable in their own way. I like a renegade cop/FBI agent and Grey definitely fits that category and when he sets his sights on Sydney as the perfect undercover operative for a covert investigation, he’s about to meet his match. I loved Sydney’s character, in fact everything about her, what she did for a living, how she did it, her attitude to life, even her secrets… she had many layers that she used to shield herself emotionally and I really liked that Grey had her figured out and was a match for her in every way. I liked Grey a lot, even more so when we find out his story and they had great chemistry as a couple, they clicked together effortlessly , complementing each other and it wasn’t hard to connect with them and their troubles and they definitely brought the sizzle factor.
I really liked the storyline and I said this about Misty Evans previous book…. They read like movies/tv series, I could just imagine watching this and loving it! We have a current serial killer case that has been dogging our male lead, he lost his job because of it so what better way to start a series off? I love those type of stories…a lawman who lost everything for a case & if he can only crack the case then not only will he get his job back but his life will be complete again….you know the drill and the romance juts adds to that, especially when the woman - who has finally evoked some feeling in him - ends up being a target and in danger – I love this stuff! The investigation that ensued was fraught with tense situations where rape & murder is a high possibility and they can only trust each other and when you are thrust into that type of intense relationship it explodes into the bedroom with the same intensity & need, giving the story a massive dose of hotness. It was just great! Everything about it, right down to the pacing & love of cupcakes so, I’m already looking forward to book two and Monroe’s story.

Her sting operation put a ruthless criminal in prison.

One year ago, rookie FBI agent Celina Davenport pulled off the ultimate undercover operation…she seduced Emilio Londano – the dangerous leader of the San Diego Mafia – and destroyed his illegal empire.

Now he’s escaped and looking for revenge.

When Londano escapes a maximum security prison and begins picking off Celina’s friends and coworkers, everyone she knows becomes a target. Including DEA agent Cooper Harris, the man who once broke her heart and is now assigned to be her bodyguard.

How far will they go to stop him?

Cooper and Celina must risk their careers – and their hearts –to turn the table on their pursuer. But will their past, with its forbidden passions and impulsive choices, put them directly in his crosshairs?

The Review: Deadly pursuit is a fast paced, exciting, action packed adventure and I really enjoyed it.

As the synopsis tells us – FBI agent Celina Davenport pulls off a feat no other could do, she found an ‘in’ with the Londano crime family, went under cover and seduced the mob boss – Emilio Londano - resulting in the collapse of his empire and his incarceration….. Only she didn’t expect him to escape, she didn’t expect he would go after the people in her life, she didn’t expect to become a target for a man with nothing to lose and a taste for revenge. It’s seems as though her only hope of surviving is through DEA agent Cooper Harris, a man she has been lusting after for a while but one who can’t &won’t give her what she needs. As they are pushed together in a game of cat and mouse, thrust into life threatening situations…. Will Coop’s walls come down, will he realise that he could have a future with Celina? If he can only help her survive.

So, I’m a fan of Misty Evans - having read both her Witches Anonymous & Kali Sweet books - so when she asked for reviewers of her new book I jumped at the chance, even knowing it had zero paranormal activity :O Anyway, I’m so glad I took the chance because this was an awesome read and had a plot that is definitely worth making into a movie. We get a strong, capable lead female character in Celina, who will not give in and refuses to be the victim in both love & war, she is the type of person that should inspire teenage girls, even for her work ethic alone. Cooper was a fine leading man, a good alpha male, driven, determined and again extremely capable and would make any woman swoon. When they were together, the chemistry was electric and I thought the romance brought some lightness and happiness to an otherwise serious plot. Speaking of the plot, it was great – Mafia bosses, undercover female agents sent in to take them down, unrequited love, murder, romance… that’s without the twists and turns that came with it too and let us not forget some much appreciated sexytime. It was fast paced and exciting and it did read like a movie, I could imagine seeing it on my TV and loving it! it would appeal to both men & women alike and the best thing is… it’s only the first book in the Southern California Violent Crimes Taskforce series so there’s lots more where this comes from and I’ll definitely be reading the sequel.

The Blurb from Goodreads: Word’s gotten around Heaven (and Hell) that Amy tricked the angel Gabriel and helped Adam with his second trial with temptation. Now Samson shows up on her doorstep looking for true love, and Delilah’s not far behind, insisting she wasn’t the one who cut off his hair. In order to get both of them out of her ice cream shop and back into each others’ arms, Amy must become a relationship expert and a detective while completing Step Two of Witches Anonymous. But will believing in a higher power help Amy in her quest, or make matters worse?

The Review: So, in this festive edition of Witches Anonymous we find Amy still being hounded by the lusty Lucifer, Pining for Adam whilst he’s off ‘finding himself’, wondering what on earth has happened to her sister and still trying not to use her magic. It’s nearly Christmas and Amy is hosting a WA meeting in her store when low and behold who bursts into the place but Samson followed shortly after by Delilah. Yes, the Samson & Delilah from the bible with long hair and strength in abundance galore, Guess it’s their turn for redemption as he demands that Amy finds out the truth behind Delilah’s betrayal. Amy hasn’t got a clue what is going on and while she tries to help out she finds that maybe Delilah wasn’t as much to blame as we’d been lead to believe, but how can she know for sure? and where the hell did that cat come from?
Yet more fun and games for Amy in the form of another biblical story- I’m sensing a theme to the series here- and its Samson’s turn. This was yet another easy read, good fun, filled with laugh out loud, comic moments and no let-up in the pace. Amy is still trying to stay on the WA program but struggles when she constantly has these strange circumstances thrust upon her but she deals with them in typical Amy fashion and although she is all about Adam at the minute she seems to warming back up to Luc especially after what happens in this. Loved how she tried to make Adam’s first Christmas back really special because being a witch, it wasn’t something she celebrated so that was nice and she seemed to really get into Christmas and the solstice too for her friend. Just thinking about Amy, she wants to let us think she is some sort of heathen but deep down she is really a good person, putting other people before herself and always trying to do the right thing and again I’m wondering what the wording of a certain spell has really done for Amy. It’s hard not to be spoilery with my reviews because I just want to ramble about it, it was like 2 stories in one and I got my first sad moment of the series in this plus my heart bled for a couple of people too but that just made me love them more and with this being a festive edition the biggest message I got from this was love & forgiveness and left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I can’t wait to find out what’s next for Amy & the gang.

The Blurb from Goodreads: Can a bad witch go good in thirteen steps? Not if Lucifer has his way with her! A Tickle My Fantasy story. Amy Atwood is a witch. Not the harm-none kind…the Satan-worshipping, devil-made-me-do-it kind. But after catching Lucifer in a particularly wicked hex act with her goodie-two-shoes Wiccan sister, Amy does what every self-respecting witch would do. She pops a Dove chocolate in her mouth, ends her affair with the devil, and swears an oath never to use magic again. She wants to be normal. Human. Even if it means no more fun—and she’s looking for a nice, normal guy to complement her new lifestyle. And ice-cream-loving firefighter Adam Foster looks like perfect hero material. Lucifer, however, isn’t about to be nice about letting her go. Stalked by Satan, manipulated by the angel Gabriel—and surprised by Adam’s true identity—Amy finds herself up to her black hat in trouble of Biblical proportions…

The review: "My name is Amy Atwood and I’m a witch. Not one of those goody-two-shoes Wiccans. No, I’m a Satan worshipping devil made me do it witch. However, after catching Lucifer performing a particularly wicked hex act with Emilia, my sister – a tried and true Wiccan – I turned my back on the devil. I didn’t expect him to be faithful, but bewitching with my sister? High ick-factor. So, no more casting spells to entertain him, no more curses to carry out his desires, no more witchery of any kind. That is why I was attending my first Witches Anonymous meeting’ . . . . . . And with that I was hooked and smiling and I was only on the first page.

You may recall a review I did for Revenge is sweet by Misty Evans  if not here's my review . . . .well I loved it so, so much that she sent me a couple of her short stories to introduce me to another of her series ‘Witches Anonymous’ featuring a couple of characters who popped up in Revenge is Sweet, Amy & Lucifer. Needless to say I loved this too ! It was so easy to read, you don’t have to think about anything – it just flows, the plot is fast moving with quite a lot to get into a short book and the humour is great creating some really comic moments.

Poor Amy is just trying to get on with her life following Lucifer’s betrayal, finding a man who she really likes and trying to get to know him better along with trying to keep her oath of not using her powers anymore. While Lucifer can’t seem to let go of Amy no matter how much she wishes he would and her sister blaming her for it. The characters are likable and funny, again the humour and situations they get into are classic and add to their appeal.   I found the ‘shoe episode’ and ‘wake up call’ particularly funny and sat with a smile on my face for most of the book. Don’t just take my word for it though, read this book and you’ll know exactly what I mean.

This is the part where I usually say how much I’m looking forward to the next one, its going on my TBR list and then having to wait 6+months for it . . . . . . But not this time, as Misty has also sent me Jingle Hells – another in the Witches Anonymous series and seen as Christmas is nearly upon us what better way to get into the Christmas spirit so keep an eye out for that review coming real soon.

A huge thank you to Misty Evans for giving me the opportunity to review this book.

The Blurb from Goodreads: Payback is a bitch and her name is Kali Sweet...I’m Kali Sweet, the best damn vengeance demon on Earth. I work for the supernatural world’s Justice Department and protect innocent humans from otherworldly creatures like me. While I can’t take revenge for myself, I make sure justice is done for others. But when my latest run-in with Chicago’s vampire king backfires, the fallout leaves me with three big problems: a powerful Undead enemy who wants my head, my boss looking over my shoulder, and three personal blood slaves jeopardizing my reputation. One of those slaves happens to be sexy rock star Radison Beaumont – the half-human, half-chaos demon who left me at the altar three hundred years ago. Even if he does need my blood now to survive, Rad and I will always be enemies. Especially since he’s joined an ancient society of demon killers—and I’m the number one demon on their most wanted list.
<
The Review: 4.5 out of 5: I am not going to write my own synopsis about the book because the above is perfect and describes it to a tee and I would only end up repeating it. Soooo . . . what did I think?
<
Well I REALLY liked it! Kali is an awesome character, a vengeance demon who works for the Bridge Council protecting humans from supernaturals who would do them harm and running her own ‘vengeance for hire’ business Sweet Investigations. She has a hard time trusting people due to her past history but deals with things in her own way but when she defends herself against a vampire king her life seems to spiral out of control and she is put in astounding situations. She is no ‘lie down and take it’ kind of girl though and rises to the challenge time and time again, affirming her place as a kick ass heroine with a great sense of humour. Then there is Rad, yummy Rad, rock star Rad, former fiancé Rad . . .  mmmm. Left her at the altar 300 years ago and suddenly back on the scene, you just know all of those repressed feelings are going to come back to bite them, but what has he been doing since then? Then we have Cole, Damon and Dru  . . . . . are you curious yet?

I am a huge fan of books along these lines, a fast paced urban fantasy with a kick ass heroine, some hot love interest(s), enemies galore and paranormal with a good dose of humour. I love these kinds of books when I’m in a reading funk and need something light and funny. It’s a really easy read that keeps you interested throughout with multiple dramas coming together for a final showdown and even though most of the plot is concluded, it’s also got a couple of loose ends to run into a sequel and make you want more . . . . and I want more!

I am definitely checking out Misty’s other books and they will be going on my TBR list, I also feel a visit to Amazon is coming on.
