Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter.
She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever.
When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

In this charming and heartfelt sequel to the New York Times bestseller To All the Boys I've Loved Before, we see first love through the eyes of the unforgettable Lara Jean.

Love is never easy, but maybe that’s part of what makes it so amazing.

The Review: PS I Still Love You is the second book in Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series and if you honestly haven’t read this series then I highly recommend adding it to your to-be-read pile because it’s amazing!

This is the second time I’ve read PS I Still Love You and it was just as good as the first time. With the release of the third book I wanted to refresh myself with the series and I’m really glad I did because there was so much information that I completely forgot. Not only that but it was great to familiarise myself with these fantastic characters once again.

After the events in To All Boys I’ve Loved Before you go into the book with hopes that Lara Jean and Peter are together and happy and while that might be true, there is one certain girl that is willing to disrupt the happiness that the loveable couple have found together. So while I was expecting some fluffy romance, I got a heart-breaking story that really pulled on my emotions and it was still fantastic to read because Han has a way of pulling you into the characters story and not letting you leave until you’ve finished it.

Now I knew from the synopsis that another one of Lara Jean’s boys would also play a role in this story and that was John Ambrose Maclaren. While Lara Jean and Peter are going through their relationship problems, John was really there for her. John is a great character. One that anyone could easily fall for. However my problem was he just wasn’t Peter. If John had come first then maybe things could have been different but for me, I am firmly and will always be a Peter fan.

I really did enjoy this book. It has a good mixture of happy, sad, funny and emotional times and the story develops enough for you to want to read more. I can’t wait to dive into the third and final book!

If you love holiday stories, holiday movies, made-for-TV-holiday specials, holiday episodes of your favorite sitcoms and, especially, if you love holiday anthologies, you’re going to fall in love with MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME: TWELVE HOLIDAY STORIES.

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me ...

This beautiful collection features twelve gorgeously romantic stories set during the festive period, by some of the most talented and exciting YA authors writing today.

The stories are filled with the magic of first love and the magic of the holidays.

The Review: Ever since I received My True Love Gave to Me I've been dying to read it. But like many others, I decided to read it closer to Christmas for the festive feeling and what a fantastic idea it was.

My True Love Gave to Me features twelve stories wrote by twelve different authors. With some authors I was already familiar with some of their previous works but some, I had never heard of. And while most stories were easy enough to read and pleasantly enjoyable, there were a few little gems that stood out and really left me wanting more of the story - I'm not sure that's supposed to happen with anthologies, but hey, it did....but here are my favourite's........

Midnights by Rainbow Rowell;
What a perfect way to start this book. Midnights by Rainbow Rowell is a cute read - one that has a wonderful set of characters. Noel and Mags relationship is clear from the very start of their story. It's a relationship that continues to grow throughout the years of their friendship and it's clear to see when things become that little bit more to each of them. I really enjoyed the little chapters giving us details of their past New Years Eve's together and the countdown was fun to read too. You know it's a good story when you're left wanting more once you've finished.

Polaris is Where You'll Find Me by Jenny Han;
This has to be my favourite from the story. I really loved Natty and I really felt for her situation. With Natty living with elves in the North Pole and her adopted father being Santa Claus, this story was simply refreshing to read. Something different. Something new. Something I've never read before. Even though I did wish for that little bit more towards the end of Natty's story, I remained hopeful that she got her big wish. Another well done for Jenny Han!

It's a Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown by Stephanie Perkins;
Simply perfect! A sweet and cute story that although was a little too long is still fully enjoyable. The way the romance is told in the story is very unexpected but once it happens, you can't help but want to hold on to it. It's about two characters coming together and helping each other out.

In all, My True Love Gave to Me has a good mixture of different stories to keep readers entertained and will bring your spirits up for the holidays. Definitely a great pick to read over the holidays.

3.5 flowers!

Thank you to Macmillan Children's Books for giving me the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest review.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed.

But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh.

As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

The Review: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is a delightfully sweet read – one that captures your heart and leaves you wanting more!

As a way to move on from her previous loves, Lara-Jean writes letters to them. She writes things she would never say to their faces and she writes from her heart. When she finishes the letters, she address's them and keeps them stored in an old hatbox her mother gave her before she passed away. Lara-Jean never expected her letters to ever be read but suddenly they disappear and the loves from her past know everything she has wrote - they've somehow received her letters.....

I loved Jenny Han's summer series so when I heard she was writing a new book, I couldn't wait to read it. It did take me a while to get to To All the Boys I've Loved Before but it was definitely worth the wait because I had a fantastic time buddy reading this with Kate.

When I started the story I wasn't sure I was going to like it. Lara-Jean comes across very young during the first few chapters and it instantly put me off. I didn't enjoy her calling her parents Daddy and Mommy when she's 15/16 years old. But I'm glad I stuck with the story because it quickly changed. Once Lara-Jean's sister Margot leaves for Scotland, I quickly saw a change in Lara-Jean. She becomes more confident and tries to stand on her own two feet rather than letting Margot do everything for her. She realizes she has to look after her workaholic father and her younger sister and with Margot leaving, it gave Lara-Jean the room for growth and I think it was exactly what she needed as a character.

When Lara's letters get sent and the some of the boys start approaching her, I was mortified for her. If I was in her situation I would have hidden under a rock but I thought Lara-Jean handled it really well or the best she could. While trying to hide her true feelings for Josh - her sister’s ex-boyfriend, Lara-Jean turns to Peter for help and it's a win-win situation for both of them if they pretend to be dating - even though Peter received a letter from Lara-Jean too. Their relationship is completely platonic and I liked that. Their friendship/relationship really kept me guessing throughout because although this is kind of a love triangle story, the relationship with Peter is a really slow burning one. It's not clear that something with him will ever happen. It's through Peter's actions that you slowly start to notice a change and my heart completely started to warm towards him. But then I liked Josh too - he was sweet and a little bit blind to what was going on around him, but I'm firmly TEAM PETER!

I cannot wait for the sequel. I'm nervous about the blurb which looks like another boy from Lara-Jean's past will make an appearance and I'm kind of guessing to who it is. But it makes me wonder what will happened between her and Peter. These two are so right for each other and I'm hoping they see it soon too.

In all, To All the Boys I've Loved Before was an absolute pleasure to read and I'll look forward to re-reading it in the future.

A Review for The Summer Trilogy by Jenny Han

Some summers are just destined to be pretty. Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer -- they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.
<
The Review: “We sat around the kitchen table picking off of foil-covered plates. Conrad kept sneaking looks at me, and every time I looked back, he looked away. I'm right here, I wanted to tell him. I'm still here.” -Belly
<
I read this a little over a month ago now, and I still love it. It was such a quick and fun read that I simply couldn't get enough of it. I'd heard nothing but praise for this book, and it most certainly didn't disappoint at all.  It had so much fun to it. It was full of joy, and laughter, full unrequited love from all three.
<
Belly is extremely likeable, she is quite young to begin with around 15 I believe, and this is pretty much shown in the narration of the story. This summer Belly (Isabel) is suddenly 'pretty' she doesn't wear glasses any more, she's grown into her body etc, and she gets noticed. Noticed by the two boys she's known forever, she's a great heroine, easy to relate to. Although there were certain moments where her age shows, she was otherwise pretty grown up for a 15 year old. Which brings me to Conrad and Jeremiah, absolutely fantastic boys, both extremely well written. I loved all the interactions between them and Belly. When I was reading this it made me want a summer just like it.
<
I really enjoyed the flashbacks to the past summers Belly had. Throughout the book during these flashbacks we see different stages and years of Belly and the boys, it felt good to get a good sense of their history, and how the boys eventually grew into men. Seeing the way Belly grows with them, and eventually falling in love with not one, but essentially both boys.
<
The Summer I Turned Pretty was a perfect little read to keep you going. It's a good read to get you out of a reading slump. It's a perfect summer read. I would most definitely recommend this, save it for when you're by a pool, and picture yourself with Conrad and Jeremiah dunking you into the pool instead.

Can summer be truly summer without Cousins Beach? It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come. But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started--at Cousins Beach.
<
The Review: “He started to say something, maybe an apology and maybe not, and then he stopped, he leaned over and pulled me toward him - like by gravitational force. He kissed me, hard, and his skin was stubbly and rough against my cheek. My first thought was, I guess he didn't have time to shave this morning, and then - I was kissing him back, my fingers winding through his soft yellow hair and my eyes closed. He kissed like he was drowning and I was air. It was passionate, and desperate, and like nothing I had ever experienced before. This was what people meant when they said the earth stopped turning. It felt like a world outside of that car, that moment, didn't exist. It was just us.”-Belly
<
I picked this one up straight away. I enjoyed the first one so much that I had to have more. The book picks up right from where book 1 ended, and everyone is slightly older, slightly more mature and are all now grieving having lost someone extremely close to them all. The book now deals with how each character is dealing with this grief, how they come to terms with their loss.
<
We see a whole new side to Belly, Jeremiah and Conrad. This book now alternates between Belly and Jeremiah points of views. And I loved that. I loved reading about Jeremiah, about how he's dealing with the loss, how he's dealing with his growing feelings for Belly, and how he's trying to handle and out of control Conrad. It was great to see Jeremiah in a new light and thoroughly enjoyed reading his pages. Belly, I'm not sure how I felt about Belly in this one. Although she does grow, there were moments in this book that had me shaking my head thinking "You need to stop being a child Belly". But after Conrad disappears she wakes up and helps hunt him down. I wasn't shocked to see that Belly and Jeremiah were growing closer, with Conrad being distant, and Jeremiah being the only one that was ever really there for her, it was pretty inevitable that it was to happen. And I was okay with it, it's not who she should be with, but it was fine for me. There was a lot of repetition from book 1 about how things came to pass and how those actions led to the decisions made in book 2. The refresher isn't really needed especially if you've already finished book 1 and immediately picked this up, but it does work.
<
This again was a quick read, although it wasn't as cute and fun as book one as it dealt with some real issues, it doesn't take away any of the awesomeness out of it. Jenny Han managed to deal with a real issue, that people go through in everyday life and it was done really well. It will make you want to keep turning pages. Book 2 is pretty much an emotional roller coaster that will leave you reeling in some parts. I most definitely recommend it.

The Review: “I've only ever loved two boys—both of them with the last name Fisher. Conrad was first, and I loved him in a way that you can really only do the first time around. It’s the kind of love that doesn't know better and doesn't want to—it’s dizzy and foolish and fierce. That kind of love is really a one-time-only thing.” -Belly
<
This was by far the best of the three. This one starts with Belly and Jeremiah at the same college, both are now 18. For the third time in a row Jenny Han managed to tug at the heartstrings, create a whole mass of drama, and beautifully executed a happy ending. When I finished this book I was crying, and I thought about it for the following 3 days. I kept staring at it on my shelf wishing for a story like Belly's.
<
Belly is very grown up in this book, which is seen through her narration of the story. Not only do we get Belly's story but we get a point of view from Conrad too. And that was amazing. I enjoyed reading so much of Conrad, seeing how he was dealing with the after effects of book 2 and the big announcement made in this book my Belly. I think I fell in love with Conrad all over again in this one. It was beautiful. It was great to see the three of them back and how the three were dealing with their issues toward one another. How Conrad was dealing with his love for Belly and how he struggles to tell her how he feels, and whether it's worth ruining his brothers wedding for it.
<
As I gradually read this book, I found myself falling more and more in love with it, and realising what kind of ending I wanted this to have. I most definitely enjoyed this one a lot more than the first two, they were great, but this one felt awesome. I think it helped that they were all older, moving on with the lives. This was full of excitement, and drama, I felt for Belly, trying to make her decision, one of the hardest of her lives. I loved how she handled it. I'm not sure I could have chosen one or the other.
<
The ending felt perfect. It completed the story and gave closure to the characters and to me as a reader. I remember saying to myself "No, Belly, he's the wrong boy. He's not the one for you!" and Jenny Han managed to keep you in suspense right to the last minute when in the end the decision was made for Belly. It was the right decision.
<
If you're looking for quick reads, full of love, drama, unrequited love, summer sun, sea, boys, a great heroine and two wonderful mothers then pick up this trilogy by Jenny Han. You won't regret it. It was all so wonderful. And I want to read them again. And I will. After you fiish all three, you'll be thinking about them for days, and just wishing that you had the same summers that Belly had with Jeremiah and Conrad.

I had wanted to try this series for a while because all I’ve heard is how good it is and when I got it for review, of course I dived in straight away and it really doesn’t disappoint. It’s one of them perfect beach reads that all girls should read but you will automatically love it.

The Summer I Turned Pretty really was a fun read and I also wish I had been sitting on a beach reading this book because it would have made it that much more real. It’s full of laughs, quirky moments, happy moments and yes sad moments but what I loved about it was how connected to the book and characters I really got.

Belly was a great narrator and she was really easy to like. You could really feel her struggles and I loved who she turned into the kind of girl the boys took notice off. Belly has always been in love with Conrad but with him being a little bit older than her, he’s never really given her more than just friendship. She can feel things changing but Conrad is such a complex character – he’s moody, he’s sullen and he’s quiet and he’s never been that way before. He’s hiding something and it really make you as a reader want to unravel him as a character. And Jeramiah was a great friend, one who can make you laugh and make you feel better. I really loved the relationships between the three because there is so much tension, your dying for something to happen between them. My only problem is they don’t really interact all that much during the book other than in the flash backs. You mainly hear Belly talking about the boys and when they do interact, I was left slightly annoyed. I wanted to get to know these characters more but together….not watching from the side lines. So I’m hoping for a little more in the next book.

Now the ending – where the hell did that come from? Talk about emotional. The last 50 pages everything just seemed to happen and it did feel a little rushed but it was still good nonetheless. And as I’m writing this review, I’m reaching for the next book. =)

If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started--at Cousins Beach.

After finishing The Summer I Turned Pretty, I immediately picked up book two in the series It’s Not Summer Without You and I have to say I wasn’t sure where the story was going to go with how things ended but what I got from It’s Not Summer Without You was so an emotional rollercoaster – one that you really need to kept a hold of your emotions because otherwise they will be flying all over the place. I cried, I laughed and I love that a young adult novel can make me feel so emotional.

All the characters are struggling with losing someone they loved very much and each character has their own way to deal with it. Some drink, some block everything out and some struggle. Conrad seems to be taking it the hardest and Jeremiah and Belly are determined to try and help him. I really love each of these characters but I found myself getting frustrated with them during this book. They do rash and silly things and run away from their problems and it just makes the situation worse. Conrad is as closed off as ever leading to Belly feeling like Jeremiah is her rock. So to see Jeremiah and Belly become that much closer, really wasn’t a surprise to me. However, I thought Belly was just hiding behind her feeling too and Jeremiah was an escape to get Conrad off of her mind.

This story becomes so much more complex because again Jenny Han leaves me speechless with an ending like that. And I adored the little chapters from Jeremiah's point of view. It helped me understand his situation that much more. So, I’m so glad I had book three ready and waiting for me because I need to know what happens and I’m praying that Belly picks the right brother.

<
Wow, what to say with We’ll Always Have Summer. I have to admit I had my doubts. Doubts that Belly wouldn’t end up with the guy I was rooting for because this is just one series you just cannot predict and when I started reading this book, I honestly had to do a double take. Not in a million years did I expect the pure-awesomeness that came from this book and while I was initially shocked with the route that Jenny Han took this book, it just fits so well into the story. It made it all the more real and it very intense.

Two years have passed and Belly is now happily dating Jeremiah. I know shocking! But she’s happy and that’s all anyone ever wanted for her but can she really forget her first love Conrad? No! So when things finally come to a head, they are truly explosive. What I loved about this book more than the others was getting to know Conrad more. In the previous book’s he’s been so closed off and moody but this time around, we really get to see him and why he struggled so much-. He’s trying to do his best by Jeremiah because it was his mother’s wishes but doing best by his brother leaves him unhappy. You can really see his inner struggles. He’s watched Belly from afar for so many years, missing out on her happy time and he really will do anything for her. The chapters from his point of view made this book for me and I loved it! I only wish I had more time with him nearer the end.
<
Belly struggles more than anything and yes, it’s about which Fisher brother to pick but I think deep down she has always known which one her heart belongs to. She’s grown so much over the past few years. She’s now in college and working part time and even though I still think she makes rash decisions, I also still admire her. I’m glad she finally goes after who she wanted and I’m glad she’s finally with the right person.
<
All in all, this series is about finding that one love and it may not have been a smooth ride but it was sure worth it in the end. Highly recommended for contemporary romance fans – ideal summer read!
<
A huge thank you Puffin for giving me the opportunity to review this series.
