US vs UK (#6)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's sixth US vs UK book cover battle. We've seen this posted on a few other blogs, and thought we'd jump on the band wagon!

The idea of this battle is once a week we'll post 2 sets of books of our choice, one US cover and one UK cover, and we'll just give our opinion on which one we love the most. Which cover captures the story, which one would catch our eye if we saw it on the shelf in a shop. The US cover will be on the left, and the UK cover will be on the right.

So far we've had..... 1 win to the US and 4 draws!

US vs UK Round 6

Angel by L.A Weatherly

 vs

Jess says: I haven't read this book yet. But I will. This is a tough one for me too.  But I find myself leaning towards the UK cover, I just the the design. I love the white wings behind her. I'm not sure which one reflects the story more as I haven't read the book, but the UK is definitely my favourite. Definitely.

Donna says: This is a tough one for me! But, I think I prefer the UK cover. After reading this book and LOVED it, I completely understand the cover but I think because of the white on the UK cover, I find myself more attracted to it rather than US. I'm not saying the US isn't nice, it is but just not as nice.

Which do you prefer?

Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon

vs

Jess says: Ooo this is a hard one too. But I have to agree with Donna on this one. The UK cover definitely draws me in a lot more. I'm not which one captures the story as I haven't read this one yet either, but the UK cover just screams 'Look at me'. The US one is beautiful too though, I love the arch behind the girl.

Donna says:  I actually love both of these covers. But I think I'm going to go with the UK cover again. I haven't read this book yet so I'm not sure what the cover is trying to say but I love the colours that are used in the UK cover. They completely draw you in and the woods behind the girl look quiet spooky but makes you want to go and walk around in them. So yeh, UK again for me :)

Which do you prefer?

I remember reading something the author wrote about Angel/Angel Burn. She was saying that US title and cover spoke more to her story, and yet she couldn't believe she hadn't come up with the title/cover herself.

As for me, I'd take the US cover. I'd rather be able to imagine the characters in my head.

I prefer both UK covers.

I love the spooky girl on the Angel cover, she looks a little like the bad girl from The Rind film lol.

I like the green on the UK cover of dead beautiful :D

I prefer Angel Burn (US cover) and the UK version of Dead Beautiful because of the green, butterflies and the aura around her.

I prefer the UK cover for Angel, I don't like the title or cover of the US one much really... :/ But I prefer the US cover of Dead Beautiful, I love the gothic arch and the font is nicer, though I haven't read the book yet (it's on my shelf) so I couldn't say which one fits the story better! :L
