The Blurb: In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees
Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.
Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.
As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?
The Review: I'd so many great things about this book before I started so I was praying it lives up to its expectations. In the end, it did and it was a really good read.
The story follows Clara who is a quarter angel. An quarter angel with a purpose. At sixteen she is starting to figure out her powers and her purpose. Her vision always starts with seeing the same boy, in the same woods with the same fire. With each vision, she sees a little more leaving Clara with clues as to what needs to happens. After moving to Wyoming, Clara finally finds the boy from her visions but trying to solve her purpose is a little harder than she ever imagined especially when she starts to fall in love with a boy called Tucker.
I'll be honest when I say I struggled with the first few chapters of the story. I've always enjoyed Angel stories but I just felt this book was a little slow to start with. Once we got the first half the book, things picked up ALOT! In the end, what I enjoyed about this story was the characters. Clara was a great character, strong minded, beautiful and a joy to read about. Christian, a hot boy, one with a lot of mystery and finally, all I have to say about Tucker, WOW! ;)
I loved the whole Angel's have a purpose. Its not a story line that I have read before but I really enjoyed the new take. I loved the love triangle although I'm interested to see what happens between Clara & Christian, I think I maybe be leaning towards Tucker more. I enjoyed him a little more, maybe that's because we got to see the fun side of Tucker through out the story. Overall, both boys were great. The only thing that annoyed me a little was Clara's mother. I think she's hiding something up her sleeve and if she is, then I'm eager to find out what it is.
Overall, a little slow to start with but the story does pick up, keeping you interested and living you wanting more. One last thing......Whose team are you on? :)

Team Tucker, definitely. I just couldn't get enough of him. Somehow I couldn't really connect to Christian, although I hope that this will change with the next novel, because the ending of Unearthly has left me breathless. I need to know what will happen now.
Great review, thank you for sharing your opinion. I'm glad you liked it so much. :)

Team Tucker for sure, Christian didn't do much for me and I thought he was almost kinda rude and stupid for being with whatever that rude girls name was...but Tucker ah he is perfect, I am hoping this novel sticks with Tucker and Clara.(:
Another great review Donna !
Thanks Ladies :) I'm loving Tucker but I also liked Christian. I'm probably leaning more toward Tuck at the moment but I hope I'm no swayed in the next book. Lol
I fell in love with this book on the first page! I can say it's one of my favorite books ever! A beautiful love story. I'm definitely Team Tucker! He is the perfect boyfriend!
