Waiting on Wednesday (#6)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

It's been a while since we did one of these (December was the last one). This is normally in place of Book Boyfriend when I don't have one.

Jess's  WoW

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Insturments #5) by Cassandra Clare
Release date: May 8th, 2012

City of Lost Souls, the Shadowhunters struggle to piece together their shattered world after a betrayal by one of their own leaves them reeling.

Jess's thoughts: OMG!!! Too excited about this book. I LOVE The Mortal Instruments series, and I LOVE Jace so much. This cover is absolutely beautiful, the best one yet I think. We finally have faces on the cover! It's too amazing, and I'm so excited to finally be able to return to the Shadowhunting world. I'm not even sure how Cassandra Clare is going to be able to top how amazing this book is probably going to be. Not only am I excited for the book, but the movie is being released next year I believe, so lots of TMI is in the works, and I  frggin' love it!

Donna's WoW

Struck by Jennifer Bosworth
Release date: May 8th, 2012

Mia Price is a lightning addict. She’s survived countless strikes, but her craving to connect to the energy in storms endangers her life and the lives of those around her.

Los Angeles, where lightning rarely strikes, is one of the few places Mia feels safe from her addiction. But when an earthquake devastates the city, her haven is transformed into a minefield of chaos and danger. The beaches become massive tent cities. Downtown is a crumbling wasteland, where a traveling party moves to a different empty building each night, the revelers drawn to the destruction by a force they cannot deny. Two warring cults rise to power, and both see Mia as the key to their opposing doomsday prophecies. They believe she has a connection to the freak electrical storm that caused the quake, and to the far more devastating storm that is yet to come.

Mia wants to trust the enigmatic and alluring Jeremy when he promises to protect her, but she fears he isn’t who he claims to be. In the end, the passion and power that brought them together could be their downfall. When the final disaster strikes, Mia must risk unleashing the full horror of her strength to save the people she loves, or lose everything.

Donna's thoughts: I first heard about this book from a friend and I was shocked I hadn't heard about it. I NEED IT! I WANT IT! NOW!!!! So amazing!

I have yet to read CoFA, but I'll do that close to the release of CoLS, so I won't have to wait too long to continue. :D Aaah, and I love the CoLS cover sooo much. <3

And Stuck sounds really fantastic, too. Definitely need to get my hands on a copy of that too! This is a post of awesomeness. ;)
