US vs UK (#36)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 36th US vs UK book cover battle. We've seen this posted on a few other blogs, and thought we'd jump on the band wagon!

The idea of this battle is once a week we'll post 2 sets of books of our choice, one US cover and one UK cover, and we'll just give our opinion on which one we love the most. Which cover captures the story, which one would catch our eye if we saw it on the shelf in a shop. The US cover will be on the left, and the UK cover will be on the right.

US vs UK Round 36

Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer

Jess says: I like the US cover. I think it's the hardback cover and not paperback. I only like it because it's good enough to match the ARC covers that I have.
Donna says:  I actually really like both covers but the US cover stands out to me more. The UK cover is nice but it reminds my of the new covers for Karen Marie Moning's Fever series too much. With the US cover, I really like that Calla is on the cover and their's a wolf too and the red just completely fits the story.

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

Jess says: This is a hard one. I really like both of them. I like the darkness of the US but the flowy-ness of the UK cover.'s a tie for me I think.
Donna says:  Wow the UK cover is amazing! How come we always get awesome covers but we can never get them in hardback in the UK? Sucks! I do like the US cover but just look at the UK one. I love the white and the patterns. Even though there is a lot details on the cover, the cover still looks pretty simple but beautiful.

Which do you prefer?

Okay guys, this weeks US vs UK goes to..........US

Come back next week for more US vs UK! :)

I like the US covers most, on both books :D Although the UK covers are pretty as well ;) But yeah, I like the darkness of the US cover of The Pledge. <3 Plus it is just so pretty :)

I do love the colour of the uk bloodrose, but the cover is so boring so I say us.
For the pledge though I vote uk, it's just much more interesting than the us cover and I like the colour over more boring black lol

I was a bit peeved when I found out Nightshade was getting a whole new look with books covers . . . but I actually prefer the UK covers. Tired of cover models taking over the YA book world. Doesn't seem original.

As for The Pledge, the UK isn't really all that nice. Kind of boring. So definitely the US cover which I own. Love the black/darkness since it's suits the mood of the book.

I actually prefer the UK cover for both of them. I tend to really dislike people on the front; because I enjoy creating my own versions of them in my head.

I'm really undecided about the Pledge but my fav Bloodrose is def. the US one.

The UK Bloodrose cover is great. I like it a lot better then the US one. And I had no clue that there would be an UK edition of the Pledge. The new cover is mesmerizing! And I already like the original US cover but the new one id just amazing!
Great picks!

Increasing product demand from textile industries for the removal of stain and rust from fabrics is likely to foster the hydrofluorosilicic market growth. It is used by municipal corporation in water treatment process to maintain fluoride level.
