The Blurb from Goodreads: Ashlyn McVean doesn't believe in fairy tales. That is, until Ashlyn is thrown into the crosshairs of grudges her grandmother created long ago. After finding out she is one of two people able to cross between faerie realms, Ashlyn is faced with trying to understand her abilities, along with navigating a new relationship with her boyfriend, Liam. As if being on a centuries old hit list and dealing with crazed pixies isn't enough, her new abilities mean trouble for Liam. Knowing her new life puts everyone she loves in danger, Ashlyn must decide what's most important in her life between friends, family, love, and ultimately, realms.

The Review: "I love you. I will protect you every day of forever."

How to start reviewing Bridger? Well firstly I always used to hate Fae stories, yep; hated them but then The Iron Fey series came along and now love them. I still think sometimes some authors get it wrong, in order to have a good fae story you have to have the imagination, make it believable and of course it has to be magical and Megan Curd hit the nail right on the head with Bridger and I loved it!

This story follows Ashlyn aka Ash who has just lost her dad after he drown. Ash’s Grandmother has always told her Irish faerie tales which she has never believed but when Ash decides to visit some family in Ireland with her best friend Jamie, her world soon changes when she finds out that the faerie tales are in fact very real. Soon Ash is attacked by Jamie who tries to kidnap her because Ash is actually part changeling but more importantly she’s a Bridger; someone who can cross over between the faerie realm and the human world. With the help of Liam, Ash’s protector and boyfriend and also her grandmother, Ash tries to get a hang of her new powers but with a powerful changeling that is after her, she needs to learn how to use them quick so she keeps everyone safe.

Bridger was an amazing ride which was full of action, thrills and compelling scenes. Not once through-out this novel did I think it was unrealistic, it was easy to imagine, it was easy to picture the characters and it was even easier to fall in love with them. One of my favourite parts of this story was Ash going to Ireland. I myself have been to Ireland once before and I loved it, so it was very easy to picture myself walking along with these characters as they explored Ireland’s features. Also considering the author Megan is from the USA, it was nice to see her add some of our finest features like fish and chips because really, how could you not? For me being from the UK it gave the story that homely feeling to it and I loved it.

I loved all the characters with Liam being my favourite. He’s everything you ever want from a love interest in a story and he has so many swoon worthy quotes. He’s loyal and strong and even though he does make one big mistake, he soon makes up for it. I also really enjoyed watching Ash and Liam’s romance develop. Not once did I feel it was rushed but it felt very real and instant and natural. The way they are together makes you realise their truly made for each other. Now I have to warn you, there is a kind of a love triangle brewing, but I for one and 100% Team Liam.

Overall Bridger was an exciting and captivating tale; one I really enjoyed and believe will get better and better with each book. Megan Curd definitely knows how to write a fascinating story with an awesome romance and I for one, will look forward to continuing reading more of her work in the future.
