Melina Rosenthal worships at the altar of all things fashion. Her dream is to work for the crème de la crème fashion magazine, Eclipse, and she'll do much anything to get there. Even fixing up the image of a gorgeous, sexy public figure who's all playboy, all the time. Even if he's the guy who broke her heart a year ago...

Even if Hayden Dean is a werewolf.

Since his father's death, Hayden's the heir apparent to the San Francisco Wolf Pack—well, once he settles down. Hayden isn't interested in giving up his partying ways, except he's pretty sure he's found his fated mate, and the fact that she's a non-shifter is bad news. Now he must find a compromise between the traditions of his wolf world and his certainty that Melina is his...before fate (or another werewolf) bites them both in the butt.

The Review: The Werewolf Wears Prada was a really enjoyable read and a great start to the new series.
Melina Rosenthal is a reporter and has her eye set on working the fashion column in the best fashion magazine around – Eclipse – she has the offer handed to her on a plate but it comes with a cost….. She must shadow Hayden Dean for a month and change his playboy image so that people will think he is a good bet as the new boss of his late father’s empire. There are a couple of issues though – she is really attracted to the handsome man but…. He broke her heart a year earlier.
Hayden Dean has a secret…. He’s a werewolf and is heir apparent to the San Francisco Wolf Pack but there’s trouble brewing amongst the pack and most don’t believe he is worthy enough for the title of Alpha so he reluctantly agrees to have Melina follow him around for a month to show the world a different side to him. There are a couple of issues on his side too – Melina doesn’t know that he’s a werewolf, Melina feels like his Luminary/fated mate and if the pack can’t accept him as an Alpha, then there is no way they’ll accept a non-shifter as his mate.
As tensions mount and the stakes become higher, a threat is issued and Melina becomes a target. Just who is behind everything though? And can Hayden keep his spot as Alpha at the same time as keeping Melina safe from harm.

So, I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a great start to the series. I loved the premise and the way it started made you empathise straight away with Melina. She was a cool character and had a great attitude, I loved how she would look at the situation and come up with ideas on how she could use it in her articles, even coming up with headlines, she was fun too and I loved the way she challenged Hayden a lot – he needed someone like her to kick him into shape. You could tell they were attracted to each other and it was a relationship that was believable and filled with chemistry. Both tried to deny their bond – Melina out of hurt and his reputation but Hayden had a more valid reason for why he kept her at arms length and I liked waiting to see how they would sort it out. There was still plenty of hot moments between them as they battled against the pull to each other and it was very satisfying to see them come together.
The storyline was great and I liked the scenario – werewolves on the brink of war because an Alpha who is different is in charge, extremist wolves who will stop at nothing to get their way, Hayden’s projected image and what he is really like – but what it all boiled down to was werewolf politics with two opposing sides. The danger came from one of the sides as they begin to murder people and take others captive whilst issuing threats towards Hayden. Then as the relationship progresses, more danger is aimed towards our MC’s that bring some intense moments and also so LOL moments keeping the story both serious but with humour. I liked the misconceptions of Hayden and how they unravelled as the story went on and the outrage we felt for Melina in the beginning is seen in a different light. I loved where the story went and the eventual outcome, it had all of the elements that make a good shifter book plus a nice dose of sexytime too and I will definitely be looking out for more!.

4.5 Flowers!
