Waiting on Wednesday (#29)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Jess's WoW
Black City (Black City #1)
by Elizabeth Richards
Release date: November 13th, 2012
<
A dark and tender post-apocalyptic love story set in the aftermath of a bloody war
 <
In a city where humans and Darklings are now separated by a high wall and tensions between the two races still simmer after a terrible war, sixteen-year-olds Ash Fisher, a half-blood Darkling, and Natalie Buchanan, a human and the daughter of the Emissary, meet and do the unthinkable—they fall in love. Bonded by a mysterious connection that causes Ash’s long-dormant heart to beat, Ash and Natalie first deny and then struggle to fight their forbidden feelings for each other, knowing if they’re caught, they’ll be executed—but their feelings are too strong.
 <
When Ash and Natalie then find themselves at the center of a deadly conspiracy that threatens to pull the humans and Darklings back into war, they must make hard choices that could result in both their deaths
<
Jess's Thoughts: Another book I came across by chance on GR. Not only do I LOVE the cover, but it sounds completely awesome and I honestly cannot wait for it's release so I can own it and place it on my book shelf.

Donna's WoW
Opal (Lux, #3)  Opal (Lux #3)
by  Jennifer L.Armentrout
Release date: December 11th, 2012

No one is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Donna's thoughts: I can't wait....I need this now! Daemon!

Two awesome picks. I can't wait to read Black City either. Unfortunately, I'm one of the few who haven't yet started the Lux series, but when I start book buying again, it's top of my list.
