The Keeper of Secrets (The Kailmeyra Chronicles: Book Two)
Life for Nora couldn't be better; she has married the man of her dreams and loves living in the pristine land of Kailmeyra.
That is, until the darkness threatens her perfect world.
Now war is upon the land. She and Gavin must strengthen their clan and prepare to fight. But the enemy has an ally--one that not only wields power, but holds knowledge of the ancients' secrets. Secrets that could destroy creation itself.
As the darkness grows, doubt seeps in....protectiveness hinders progress....and the unthinkable comes to pass.
Bewildered and alone, Nora shoulders the responsibility of leasing an entire race to war. As she struggles with decisions that seem impossible to make, she is haunted by one choice.
"No one has ever doubted that you would die for those you love. The question then becomes....would you live?"

Three Random Questions:
Favourite Animal—dog
Favourite Song—“For Good”, from the Wicked soundtrack.
Favourite Food—I love chicken and linguini, drenched in a cream sauce made with smoked gouda and mushrooms.
Describe yourself in three words: good-natured, kind, and odd.
1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have two teenagers, one in college and one about to be, and I have two dogs, one co-dependent hound, and one shepherd, retriever mix that thinks he’s a Lemur. That dog can jump higher than my head!
When I’m not writing, I’m in the classroom teaching elementary children drama and music. I love living the life I want to live. I wake up every morning and put my imagination on paper, and then I spend the bulk of the day inspiring young minds to dream. I couldn’t ask for more!
2. Did you always want to be a writer?
I honestly never thought I’d be brave enough to share my work with the world. The idea of someone reading what I’ve created still sends adrenaline pumping through my veins.
3. How long have you been writing? and who or what inspired you to write?
I wrote my first romance when I was fifteen during math class. I still have the spiral notebook in the attic. When I started studying music, I put the pen away. Then came a husband, children, and life. Before I knew it, years had passed and the only thing I’d written were entries in a private journal. It wasn’t until I started working with underprivileged children that the passion for writing sparked once more. Most of these kiddo’s were under the age of 11 and had experienced the worst life has to offer. Despite everything, they wrote of hope. They wrote of acceptance. They wrote of peace. They taught me what true courage is and were the catalyst for me to start writing again. The second inspiration came for a deep seeded need to teach Kate, my daughter, a few life lessons. She’s an avid reader, and so I thought that I’d create her a story that represented how powerful thoughts and emotions can be.
4. How long does it usually take you to write a book, from the original idea to
finishing writing it?
I write 3 to 6 hours a day, and I’m trying to hold to the one-year plan. It takes about 15 months right now, but I’m hopeful that as I gain more experience that time will drop.
5. Have you ever based characters on people you know or based events on things that have happened to you?
I think all characters, in some form or fashion, are based on people you either know or have affected you in some way. My writing comes from a very personal place, and so I can’t seem to separate the two.
6. Where do you get your book plot ideas from?
I have no idea. Does it sound crazy to say that I don’t go to them, but they come to me? It’s the truth. I fought about 2/3’s the way through Keepers. I didn’t want to write what my instinct was telling me to write. It seemed too painful, too much. And honestly I was a little depressed after writing it. But the story knew where it wanted to go, and because I followed it, the plot became something I never imagined.
7. Do you have a favourite character from your books? and why are they your
favourite?
That’s a toughy. I love them all, but the one character that holds a special place in my heart is Elias. I know it’s strange. He’s not the main character, and quite often he stays in the background. But he’s a constant in Gavin’s life. He plays a bigger role in Keepers, and in the third book … watch out!
8. If you had to summarise your series in it in less than 25 words what would you say?
The Kailmeyra Chronicles explores the possibility that emotions hold energy, intent is power, and love is the key that unlocks it all.
9. If your book was made into a movie, who would you pick to play the lead roles?
Oh Mylanta! Now that’s a hard question.
I know Elias would be Jeffrey Dean Morgan
I have Elaine as Julia Roberts
Rena would be Rachel Lee Cook. Her smile lights up her face, and she looks great in a tan in darker hair. J
Tark would be Hayden Christenson
10. What can we expect from you in the future?
We still have the third in the series, which, good Lord willing, will be out next year. I have a YA steampunk on the back burner, and I’m looking forward to writing a few adult non-fiction books on my experiences in the teaching field … but that’s looking way down the road.
