Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 15th US vs UK book cover battle. We've seen this posted on a few other blogs, and thought we'd jump on the band wagon!
The idea of this battle is once a week we'll post 2 sets of books of our choice, one US cover and one UK cover, and we'll just give our opinion on which one we love the most. Which cover captures the story, which one would catch our eye if we saw it on the shelf in a shop. The US cover will be on the left, and the UK cover will be on the right.
The Scores so far are:
US: 4 UK: 5 Draw: 5
US vs UK Round 15
The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong
Jess says: OoO I'm not really sure. I think I prefer the UK cover for this one. I like all the green and the reflection of the girl inside the girl if that makes sense? So, yeah, UK gets my vote.
Donna says: I actually really like the US cover. Don't get me wrong I like the UK especially the colours but I think the women on the US cover is a lot prettier and it stands out a lot more.
Which do you prefer?
Wood Angel by Erin Bow
Jess Says: UK hands down. It's one of the prettiest covers I've ever seen. The font is gorgeous, the girl is pretty, the colours fit. It's just beautiful.
Donna Says: Erggh! No contest. The UK wins for me. I've had this to review for a while too but the US cover is so plain, boring and dull. The UK has a lot of colours, its interesting to look at and very eye catching.
Which do you prefer?
Okay guys, this weeks US vs UK goes to........UK with 3 votes!
Now for a special feature. UK vs AU! So UK book is on the left and the Australia book is on the right. We hope these are good enough Braiden (Book Probe Reviews). Thank you to Petra from Safari Poet for all your help! :)
In the Arms of Stone Angels by Jordan Danes
Jess says: Hmm, I think I have to give this one to the UK as well. I love the contrast of the pink on the grey background, and that one black wing is beautiful. I love anything angel related and this is a gorgeous cover.
Donna says: I really like both covers however I think the UK takes this one for me. Mainly because of the use of different colours on the covers. The AU is really nice but its I don't think it gives the same vibe as the the UK.
