When Lauren Monroe first laid eyes on Michael Delaney back in high school, she had every reason to stay away from him; within minutes of their first encounter, his volatile actions confirmed his notorious reputation. But Lauren saw something in him that caused her to question his bad-boy persona, and against her better judgment, she took a chance. She had no way of knowing that the unlikely friendship they formed would become so important to her. Or that it would end so painfully. Eight years later, when Lauren begins her new job at Learn and Grow Day Care, Michael is the last person she expects to see. Refusing to revisit the hurt and confusion of their past, Lauren vows to keep her distance from him. But staying away from Michael proves to be more difficult than she thought, despite her lingering grief and her instincts for self-preservation. As Lauren and Michael recall the friendship that changed them forever and the events that tore them apart, will they finally be able to heal? Or will the ghosts of Michael’s past prove to be too much to overcome?
The Review: “I always knew I would fall in love with you," he said softly, "but you were never supposed to love me back."
3.5 stars!
Back to You is a enjoyable and heart-warming story that all started with unlikely friendship. Michael aka Del and Lauren were in high school when they first met and fast became friends which then, turned to romance. But, this story doesn’t start off as a happy one. Michael and Lauren haven’t spoken to each other in 8 years and both of them have been trying to forget the other, but when they meet by chance one day, there thrown back into the past. As a readers, where taken on a series of flashbacks to find out what happened between the couple that were one inseparable.
I really enjoyed Back to You. It was a fun, enjoyable and a sweet read – one that kept me compelled until the very last page. It’s kind of a mix between a young adult book and a new adult book. The characters are older than I would have thought – around 25-27 in the present but in the past, their around 18-19, and because there isn’t many steamy scenes – even though I would have liked more, I guess you could say this book is for any mature reader.
I really liked the characters. Lauren really was likable and she was a real sweetie. You could see through her job how much she loved children and cared for them, and I guess that worked well because Michael has a 3 year child – who he’s raising on his own. It was very touching to read their scene’s together because Erin really brings them together. And Michael, even though he had a rough childhood, he tired to remain the person he was. He went through so many hard times and I'm surprised he didn't break. My heart went out for him but his friendship with Lauren really pulls him through.
All in all, Back to You is very enjoyable and one that will bring a lot of joy to you while reading it. It’s a story about friendship, loss and love and I’ll be definitely keeping my eye out for more work from this author.
Thank you to Priscilla Glenn for giving me the opportunity to review this book.

I have a soft spot for romances that start of as friendship. This sounds like my sort of thing. Brilliant review!
