Waiting on Wednesday (#22)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Jess's WoW
Days of Blood and Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #2)
by Laini Taylor
Release date: November 6th, 2012
<

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed "Daughter of Smoke and Bone," Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she'll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, colour and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.

Jess's Thoughts: OMG! I cannot WAIT for this book. I absolutely LOVED the first, it completely blew me away and surprised me so much at every turn. I am so excited about this book. And I am in LOVE with this cover, it's absolutely stunning and I really can't wait to have it on my shelf. Eeeeeeeeeeeep!

Donna's WoW
Black City (A Black City novel, Book #1) Black City
by Elizabeth Richards
Release date: November 13th, 2012
.
A dark and tender post-apocalyptic love story set in the aftermath of a bloody war. In a city where humans and Darklings are now separated by a high wall and tensions between the two races still simmer after a terrible war, sixteen-year-olds Ash Fisher, a half-blood Darkling, and Natalie Buchanan, a human and the daughter of the Emissary, meet and do the unthinkable--they fall in love. Bonded by a mysterious connection that causes Ash's long-dormant heart to beat, Ash and Natalie first deny and then struggle to fight their forbidden feelings for each other, knowing if they're caught, they'll be executed--but their feelings are too strong. When Ash and Natalie then find themselves at the center of a deadly conspiracy that threatens to pull the humans and Darklings back into war, they must make hard choices that could result in both their deaths.
..
Donna's thoughts: Wow, I need this book for the cover alone. It's stunning. I've heard so many great things about this book and it's not even released until November. I seriously need to put this on my Christmas wishlist. I just know it will be epic!

Awesome choices! I can't wait to read these books, either, especially Black City. Daughter of Smoke & Bone was great, but I was a little disappointed by it. Nonetheless, I look forward to reading the sequel, too :D
