The Review: Just for Fins is book three in the Fins series and it was one of my most anticipated reads for this year. Tera Lynn Childs had me hooked from the very first book in this series because it's so unique, cute and so adorably fun and, although I still loved this book, it wasn't my favourite.
This time around we see Lily trying to step into her role as Princess of Thalassinia and while I liked this storyline, I didn't love it. The previous books have been surrounded by Lily's life on land or with her bond with Quince and just slightly about her life in the sea, but Just for Fins is more about Thalassinia. I did love exploring Thalassinia because everything is so vivid and I really liked Tellin and felt compassionate towards his kingdom, but when it came to the other kingdom's, I found myself not to bothered about them. They came across as mean and cold and they didn't care about anyone else's problem's but their own. Lily really has a heart of gold to try and help them all like she does. She grows so much in this book and she's really taking the right steps to become the Princess she really needs to be, even though it isn't plain sailing to start with.
What I did love about this book was QUINCE!! He's just as fabulous as ever. Even though I felt he was more of a secondary character in this book, he still played a key role. His and Lily's relationship is just as strong as ever and if anything, it becomes that much stronger. Unfortunately they do have to go through more trials, and their relationship is really put to the test. I have to say, I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens between them in the next book - especially with that ending. I seriously can't wait.
And of course, the secondary characters like Doe, Shannan and Brodie are just as great and are all becoming some of my favourite's to read about.
Overall, Just for Fins wasn't my favourite from the series but still great and I can't wait to see what Tera comes up with next. The Fins series will still remain a favourite!

Great review, Donna! Even though this wasn't your favourite book of the series, I'm glad you still really enjoyed it. I've always thought these books were light fun reads and look forward to reading this myself. :)
Fab review, Donna! I've only read the first book of this series, though sometime this year I plan to pick up the rest of the series. Sounds like it's a lot of fun this book.
I honestly thought this was the final book in the series. I love Quince <3
I really like the Sweet Venom series so I'm hoping that I will like this just as much, if not more. :)
