Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 19th US vs UK book cover battle. We've seen this posted on a few other blogs, and thought we'd jump on the band wagon!
The idea of this battle is once a week we'll post 2 sets of books of our choice, one US cover and one UK cover, and we'll just give our opinion on which one we love the most. Which cover captures the story, which one would catch our eye if we saw it on the shelf in a shop. The US cover will be on the left, and the UK cover will be on the right.
US vs UK Round 19
**Note: Incubus and The Demon Lover ARE the same book by the same author.**
Haley says: You know, this one is a tough one! They are both really beautiful, I gotta say though that I love the US cover more. The girls hair, and her dress, I just love it. I love the font on Incubus though, it looks incredible. Anyways in the end the US cover gets my vote!
Donna says: I've got to agree with Haley, both covers are really beautiful but for me, if I was looking in a shop the US cover would stand out a lot more because of the colours and the more modern feeling to the cover than the UK. I love the blue trees and the small birds in the back ground too in but I have to say, I'm getting a little tired of seeing the same sort of style around now.....the same style with the girls back to us. Anyone else agree?

Misty Says: Well, I think they're both gorgeous and similar in that it's the back view of a girl but the colour and the gorgeous dress definitely stand out more in the US one so I think I'm going to vote US!
Which do you prefer?
Donna Says: No contest with this one. US gets my vote! I don't know what the UK cover is all about but it looks like a cheesy movie. The guy isn't even good looking and it kind of gives off an old fashioned vibe because of their clothes. Now the US cover is lovely. The colours, the girl and I find it draws me more.
Misty says: Hmmmm both are pretty but I think I have to go with the US again. I love the pink tone in the picture, the orange in the other is a pretty harsh colour, oh and the girls pretty parasol is cool, lol :)
Which do you prefer?

Oh damn, and double damn! *laughing hysterically* I can't believe the publishers can be that misleading. I have Incubus as a paperback waiting to be read, and The Demon Lover requested from NetGalley. Thanks God I didn't buy any of the books! I actually prefer Dearly Departed as UK, because it's more with the plot - the guy is a zombie, which you can see on the pic.
I prefer the UK cover.for Incubus. It gets better to the story line.
I used to like the us cover for dearly departed but the more I see the UK cover the more I like it. So its a tie for them.
I say US for both but I really like the UK cover for Incubus too!
I LOVE the UK Incubus cover. It is really terrific! Dearly departed: US cover! I like the reddish color. it draws you in!

I think the US covers for both are *gorgeous* and while the UK cover for Incubus is nice, too, I think the UK Dearly Departed cover is horrible! Zombie guy just looks too cheesy!
With Demon Lover... Ugh! It's a tie!! I love them both! With Dearly Departed... Totally the US cover! Even though I like that the UK cover has Bram on it!!
The UK cover for Dearly Departed is truly hideous, it looks as though it's come straight from the 1980's!
I definitely like the UK Incubus cover best and the US cover for Dearly Departed. OH my!
Us covers! Though I do agree that the style is overdone. This is the third book I can think of where we only see a girls back (and they are all wearing similar clothing).
