Welcome to Book Passion for Life's ninth US vs UK book cover battle. We've seen this posted on a few other blogs, and thought we'd jump on the band wagon!
The idea of this battle is once a week we'll post 2 sets of books of our choice, one US cover and one UK cover, and we'll just give our opinion on which one we love the most. Which cover captures the story, which one would catch our eye if we saw it on the shelf in a shop. The US cover will be on the left, and the UK cover will be on the right.
The Scores so far are:
US: 2 UK: 2 Draw: 4
US vs UK Round 9
Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires #1) by Chloe Neill
Jess says: This is a series that I still have to read I've heard some good things about it. As for the covers, I'm not which one I like most? They're both great, and I'm sure they both capture the story. I don't know, I'm having a hard time choosing this week. So I think I'll give it to both the US and the UK
Donna says: This book was included in my IMM this week and I'm really looking forward to starting it. The covers though, I can say straight away I'm going for the US cover. I much prefer it because its a lot more modern and brighter than the UK. Does anyone agree that the UK cover looks pretty washed out? I think its time that cover was updated.
Which do you prefer?
Glass House (Morganville #1) by Rachel Caine
Jess Says: I have this series sat of my shelf, and I honestly cannot wait to read it :)
As for the covers. Well I love the UK cover better, this isn't a hard one this time. I just love the intricacy of the UK cover, and the font is beautiful. However I do like that the US have included the house in the distance, which I guess symbolizes the story. I think. Anyway, I give this one to the UK this time. :)
Donna Says: I really loved this series when it first came out, I'm up to book 8 at the moment. :) The covers though I have to say, I love the UK one. Its probably one of the best covers we've done in a while. I love the style of writing, I love the drops of blood, the design is really attractive and the women on the cover really stands out. I think they've put a lot of effort into it. The reason I'm not keen on the US cover it is really bland, although I do like that they've put the Glass House in the background. So yeah, UK for me.
Which do you prefer?
Okay guys, this weeks US vs UK goes to.....the UK with 2 1/2 votes lol.
