US vs UK (#10)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's ninth US vs UK book cover battle. We've seen this posted on a few other blogs, and thought we'd jump on the band wagon!

The idea of this battle is once a week we'll post 2 sets of books of our choice, one US cover and one UK cover, and we'll just give our opinion on which one we love the most. Which cover captures the story, which one would catch our eye if we saw it on the shelf in a shop. The US cover will be on the left, and the UK cover will be on the right.

The Scores so far are:
US: 2  UK: 3  Draw: 4

US vs UK Round 10

Tempest Rising by Tracy Debbs

vs

Jess says:  WOW! This is a hard one....I haven't read this book yet, but I've heard good things. Its really hard this week. I love them both, I love the colours on the US cover but I love the motion of the UK cover. I'm not sure which one covers the story well. Both these covers scream 'pick me up!' BUT if I had to choose one? I would go for the US cover, I love the colours. I love the font on the title. Its beautiful. Truly

Donna says:  For me there's not really much competition because I absolutely love the US cover. Yeah the UK cover is quiet pretty but wow does the US one grab your attention. I think this is one of them times where I would just buy the US cover because its so beautiful and stunning. I love the colours, the mermaid, the style of writing....it just has that WOW factor.  I'm dying to read this book and the covers just make me more excited.

Which do you prefer?

Jess Says: ARGH! Another hard one! These are both wonderful covers as well. However I think I prefer the US again on this one. ONLY because I think the UK has made a cover that would probably be more suited to Lauren Kate's Fallen series. You know? So solely based on that, I'm going with the US on this one. Other than that, these are both beautiful covers.

Donna Says:  I actually like both of these covers, they both grab your attention, both give of a vibe that is quiet chilling but also done in a beautiful way. BUT, I prefer the UK cover....even though I think its a bit Lauren Kate (Like Jess said) I do prefer the colours on the UK cover, the deep purple in the background is such a great colour, it really draws me in. UK for me!

Which do you prefer?

I think all the covers are gorgeous. But I think I would have to go with the US for both especially in Haunting Violet. I especially order that cover.

I have to go for the UK cover for Tempest Rising - I like it because it's brighter and has nicer font. I prefer the US version of Haunting Violet though - so pretty!
