US vs UK (#12)

Welcome to Book Passion for Life's 12th US vs UK book cover battle. We've seen this posted on a few other blogs, and thought we'd jump on the band wagon!

The idea of this battle is once a week we'll post 2 sets of books of our choice, one US cover and one UK cover, and we'll just give our opinion on which one we love the most. Which cover captures the story, which one would catch our eye if we saw it on the shelf in a shop. The US cover will be on the left, and the UK cover will be on the right.

The Scores so far are:
US: 3  UK: 3  Draw: 4

US vs UK Round 12

Hex Hall #2 by Rachel Hawkins

 vs

Jess says:  I still need to read this series, I will get around to it eventually I think! Anyway, both of these covers are beautiful, but I think I'm going to go with the US on this one, just because I like the concept of the two pictures in the reflection. The UK cover is pretty, I love the colour and the font, but I definitely prefer the US cover for this one.

Donna says:  I remember featuring the first book of the series in this a few weeks ago and I think I went with the US that time around. So I'm going with the US again! I do like the UK cover but again I really like how the book is spilt in two and you have two different pictures. I'm yet to read this book so I'm not sure what the cover means but I'm interested. US for me!

Which do you prefer?

Immortal Beloved by Cate Tiernan

vs

Jess Says: Ok this isn't a contest for me. I pick the UK! Hands down! I love the theme of grey and red, I love the eeriness about it! It's beautiful. That is all.

Donna Says:  No contest really for me. UK wins. Its so plain and simple, its beautifully designed and I love how the red flowers are at the top. The US one, I hate the colours on the book, I also think its hard to make out the fact its a women on their.

Which do you prefer?

Exactly the same as you guys! And you really should read Hex Hall. I didn't want to and then I won it in a giveaway. I was pleasantly surprised, so yes you should read them. They are great!

I like both for Demon Glass... But UK totally gets my vote for Immortal Beloved!

I agree with you on both! I like both covers of Hex Hall, but I prefer the mirror lake concept in the US one (though I've heard it doesn't have anything to do with the book). As for Immortal Beloved, hands down to the UK

I'm also in agreement with you. The Hex Hall 2 US cover is not only nicer, it actually goes with the cover for the first book so you can tell it's part of the same series. The UK cover is completely different to that of the first book and if I were just glancing at it, I would never guess that it was the sequel to Hex Hall.

The Immortal Beloved UK cover, however, is just beautiful. The US cover is fine, but it just can't compete!

I don't LOVE either of the Raising Demons covers and it's probably a draw for me as l love the purple in the UK and how unique the US one is!
UK for Immortal Beloved no doubt.
