Hey everyone!

Hows your weekend? Well the weather in the Birmingham & Kent is fantastic! So hot, been a fab weekend so far :)

What have you been reading? Come on, we know most of you have been reading City of Fallen Angels and we'd love to hear what you thought. Our reviews should be posted within the next few days.

Okay.... there isn't much updates this week but here you go.....

Donna's In my Mailbox

I haven't really brought much this week because as you all know, I got quiet a bit last week and I'm trying to work my way through it all. But, here's what I did get.....
The Declaration by Gemma Malley: This is my first win on a book blog giveaway. I won it from the lovely Emma from Bella Books Blogspot. I'm really excited to start it, so THANK YOU so much Emma.
Ghost Town (Morganville #9) By Rachel Caine: was my only paperback buy, I love the Morganville Series and although I already have this for my Kindle I still wanted to get the paperback that way, my mum can read it too. (She's also a fan) Plus the book company is the UK called 'The Works' do ALL the Morganville books for £1.99 or 3 books for £5. So its  a fantastic deal.

I did get a few books for the kindle too which are:
City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare: I did have this on pre-order for paperback  but I didn't want to wait, so I ordered it for the kindle instead. And YES, it was AMAZING. Review to come!
Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus:  I've had this book on my to be read list for a while and I managed to get a copy for the kindle, thanks to a friend off Goodreads. Thanks Mel :)
Winter's Passage Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa:  I'm doing a group read in a few days with UK Swap Shop for The Iron King and one of the girls from the group told me that Amazon (UK) was doing this for FREE.
So, of course I went over and got it. Lol
50 Ways to Hex your Lover by Linda Wisdom:  This is another book I was told about that was FREE on Amazon (UK) I thought it sounded like a fun read so thought, why not get it! I'd be interested to see if anyone has read this book? If you have, leave me a comment :)

Okay guys, that's it for my books this week. Tune in next week!

Jessica's In My Mailbox

I did a bit of book buying this week. So here's what I bought. They were all a pretty good price. :)

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
After Amazon were being stupid I cancelled their order for this. I then ordered it on The Book Depository. However the release date came and my local store had it in stock, so naturally I went and bought it anyway. Hence why we're having a giveaway for the book itself in the coming week. Totally incredible series so far, and I'm sure this one will be no different. P.S I love Jace!

Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel.
I'd heard a lot about it from my buddies on Goodreads, and have wanted to read it. Luckily I managed to purchase this at a cheaper price than originally stated. It was a buy one get one for a £1 in my local bookshop. So upon purchasing City of Fallen Angels I managed to get this one as well. Although I'm currently taking a break from the vampire genre I will read this. Eventually.

The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine
Now I've been wanting to read this series for quite sometime, but held off on buying them in case I didn't like them. So having heard such great things about them, from my friend, her mum and Donna who have all read them, I managed to get books 1-9 for the handsome price of £19 from British book website called 'The Works'. These books go for £1.99 at individual selling price, but The Works do the offer of 3 for £5, so I think I got a pretty awesome deal :)

Thats it for my 'In My Mailbox' for this week, probably won't be another one now for a month or so. But keep checking just in case I give in a buy a load!

Books to look out for in 2011.

Haunting Violet by Alyxandra Harvey.
 Release Date: July 4th, 2011
The Blurb: Violet Willoughby doesn't believe in ghosts. But they believe in her. After spending years participating in her mother's elaborate ruse as a fraudulent medium, Violet is about as skeptical as they come in all matters supernatural. Now that she is being visited by a very persistent ghost, one who suffered a violent death, Violet can no longer ignore her unique ability. She must figure out what this ghost is trying to communicate, and quickly because the killer is still on the loose.
Afraid of ruining her chance to escape her mother's scheming through an advantageous marriage, Violet must keep her ability secret. The only person who can help her is Colin, a friend she's known since childhood, and whom she has grown to love. He understands the true Violet, but helping her on this path means they might never be together. Can Violet find a way to help this ghost without ruining her own chance at a future free of lies?

Between the Sea and Sky by Jaclyn Dolamore
Release Date: June 7th, 2011
The Blurb: For as long as Esmerine can remember, she has longed to join her older sister, Dosinia, as a siren--the highest calling a mermaid can have. When Dosinia runs away to the mainland, Esmerine is sent to retrieve her. Using magic to transform her tail into legs, she makes her way unsteadily to the capital city. There she comes upon a friend she hasn't seen since childhood--a dashing young man named Alandare, who belongs to a winged race of people. As Esmerine and Alandare band together to search for Dosinia, they rekindle a friendship . . . and ignite the emotions for a love so great, it cannot be bound by sea, land, or air.

Donna's thoughts: I'm really looking forward to reading both of these books. I'm hoping they will be available as ARC's but I've haven't heard anything yet. If not, I'll look forward to buying both.

New from Jess

Some of you may remember from a previous weekly update that we mentioned that Jess has gotten all inspired from the tons of books she's read, that she's decided to give the 'story telling' a go herself. She's written 3 chapters of her story so far, and has had some good constructive feed back. She is in the slow process of continuing but due to other commitments she's finding it hard to find the time to do so.  So she'd like to give you a small sneek teaser of it for you all to read.  Hope you enjoy :)

Small Sneak Peek from Chapter One:
I'm running, always running. It’s dark. It’s raining just like the last time I was running. I can hear wolves howling. I try to concentrate on running but the fallen branches that lay strewn from the trees above me and small rocks buried under the mounds of pine needles make my balance unstable. The wolves are getting closer.

Well thats it for a while. She really must get back to writing chapter 4 *cough* I mean starting chapter 4.
