Weekly Update (#4)

Happy Sunday & Mother's Day!
To all the mum's out there, we hope you have a fab day and been spoilt rotten by your children & if you're not a mum yet, we hope you've enjoyed spoiling your mum. They do work hard. :)

Anyway, how was your week? What have you all been up to? More importantly, what have you all been reading? :)

We're on count down for the release of City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare, which is released on April 7th. We're so excited to read this book that were going to be waiting by our postbox everyday until it arrives.

Donna's In my Mailbox

My postbox is so full this week. I swapped Before I Fall and Rosebush on UK Swap Shop on Goodreads. I hadn't heard of either of them before but I'm glad I have got them as they both sound really good. Perfect Chemistry, was a my actual buy for the week, with a £5 free voucher off ebay. Great or what! Again, I've heard nothing but good reviews about this book  and although its not usually my type of book, I'm hoping I will really enjoy it.

Here are the books I got for my Kindle.
I got Desire of the Dead and Demonglass because as you know I read the first books only last week. I did only rate the both books 3.5 stars but I still enjoyed them enough to get the second books. I'm excited to sit down and read them. The other books I got because after Jess was praising The Hunger Games so much, I thought it was only fair I get to read it too. Lol. And lastly, I got If I Stay because I managed to get an ARC of the second book Where She Went.

And finally, here are my books to review.
Where she went is the sequel to If I stay so I do need to read the first before reviewing the second one, also the same with Queen of the Dead. I've never actually heard of The Ghost and the Goth, but I must admit, it looks like a fun series to start reading. Wherever you Go is a new book by author Heather Davis and I'm actually excited to read it too.

Told you guys,  my postbox is completely FULL this week! I don't know where I'm going to find the time, lol. But I love reading and I love getting the opportunity to review books. So I'm looking forward to it. I would love to hear your comments on the books I have had this week :)

In order of appearance of photos.
Before I Fall | Rosebush Perfect Chemistry Desires of the Dead
UK Cover reveal for:  The Hidden (Hollow #3) by Jessica Verday
Release Date: September 1st, 2011

The Blurb: In the long-awaited conclusion to the bestselling saga of Abbey and Caspian, readers finally learn the truth about Kristen's untimely death, the dark destiny that links Abbey to Caspian and ties them both to the town of Sleepy Hollow, and the hard choices that Abbey must make if she is to accept Caspian's love and their unexpected fate.

We're not sure how many of our followers follow this series, so it would be interesting to find out what your thought are? Anyway, we love the new cover but we must admit that there is something about the US cover that draws you in a little better. Nonetheless, we do like the UK cover.

Donna's thoughts: My personal opinion, this series wasn't for me. I did read the whole of the book but I found it quiet slow and felt it lacked something. I'm still not quiet sure of what I thought it was lacking though. The reason for us posting the cover is, I know a LOT of people who love this series, so again, it would be great to find out your thoughts on this book. :)

Blurb Reveal for Stealing Phoenix by Joss Stirling
Release Date: October 2011
The Blurb: Yves' story.

This is about getting you out...I'm stealing you.

Phoenix belongs to the Community - a gang of thieves with paranormal powers. Yves Benedict - an American student visiting London - is her mark. But Yves turns out to be more than just a target. He is her destiny. Her soulmate. But the Community owns Phoenix's past and it wants her

future too.

Donna's thoughts: I am a MASSIVE fan of the first book 'Finding Sky' and it really blew me away as I had never read anything like it before. So to say the least I have high hopes for the next book. What I really really want from this book is to be able to see how the characters we met from the first book are getting on, although I am interested in getting to know Yves and hoping he finds his soul mate.
I love the cover of the book too.

News from Jessica

Not much going on, as you can see from this update Donna has been busy book buying. I on the other hand, not so much. Here are a few books that I shall be buying very shortly!

Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R Ward

The Blurb: In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing their enemies more than Wrath, the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood...

The only purebred vampire left on the planet, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But when one of his most trusted fighters is killed - orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate - Wrath must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead...

Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn't there, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of brotherhood and blood frighten her. But his touch ignites a dawning hunger that threatens to consume them both...

We don't have Mother's Day until the end of May, I think. But happy M-Day to all the non-Swedish moms out there!

And Donna, it seems like you've got some great books there!

So jealous you got Queen of the Dead! :P. So many great books for both of you this week, and I still haven't read Finding Sky yet, though I've heard so many good things about it! Happy reading :).
