The ReviewIf you’re a fan of New Adult stories then it’s impossible to not know about Eversea by Natasha Boyd. It’s all I’ve been hearing about so I knew it was something I wanted to read so I could discover the hype about this story, and although it’s not a favourite of mine, it’s still worth a read.

Kerri, an orphaned southern girl living in a small town called Butler Cove. Her life is going by day by day until it’s her change to escape. But for right now, she’s stuck and is desperately trying to renovate her family’s estate. This is where Hollywood actor Jack enters who is looking for a quite summer to get over a nasty and much publicized relationship; Jack goes off the radar and straight to Butler Cove looking for some much needed peace. It’s at a bar one night that Kerri and Jack meet and soon realize they could both get what they want by working together, but can they stop the obvious attraction that is flying between them?

Eversea is a quick summer romance read that’s has quite an enjoyable story. I really enjoyed the characters introductions and found I quickly connected with the characters and their lives. I do love a good Hollywood romance story and while I enjoyed Eversea I didn’t love it. For me the story was overall predictable and I feel like I’ve read the story a million times in other books now. I can see why so many people enjoyed the book though because I do think Natasha Boyd set the plot of the story up quite well and it was just a shame it was so predictable.

I did really like Kerri. I loved her personality and thought she was a lovely person. So completely down to earth and so much fun. And I completely fell for Butler Cove – I really want it to be real! I think the main reason I had an issue with the book was Jack. I liked him, I really did but I just thought he was so boring. I honestly think I’ve been spoilt for choice with all these bad boy characters and Jack is just so vanilla. I didn’t feel the connection to him as I normally would for the love interest.

In all, Eversea was a good read, one that I wish I enjoyed more but still I’m glad I crossed it off my TBR for this year!

Thank you to Headline Eternal for giving me the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest review.

A feisty small-town girl and the Hollywood star who broke her heart

An all-consuming love threatened by fame

One last chance at FOREVER

Keri Ann Butler's life changed on the night she met movie star, Jack Eversea. She thought she knew a Jack that was very different to the man adored by fans the world over. In the wake of his betrayal and abandonment, Keri Ann has had to pick up and move forward with the life she was supposed to live and has put off far too long.

Suddenly Jack is back, and his explanations for why he left seem more and more plausible, and his declarations more seductive. But being Jack's latest tabloid accessory isn't on Keri Ann's career agenda, no matter how much she is attracted to him. And how can she can ever trust him again?

Jack knows he let the only 'real' thing that ever happened to him slip through his fingers. And his hands have been tied to try and stop it. Until Now.

Jack is now fighting to save his relationship with Keri Ann, even as his crazy life threatens to tear them apart. Again. The question is, can he convince her she can have it all? And have him? Forever?

Review: I have been waiting for this sequel for so long. Ever since Natasha told me there would be a sequel. It honestly didn't disappoint and I'm so glad that I was able to read Jack and Keri Ann's story.

Forever, Jack picks up around 5 months after the events in Butler Cove in Eversea. We return to Keri Ann who is dealing with the events in her own way and is planning her own future and trying to find her identity. Whilst she does that Jack is also trying to deal with the aftermath of the shock ending in book one.

I completely enjoyed this book, it was so great to be back in Butler Cove with Jack and Keri Ann that I managed to just delve straight in and not have to worry about it having "second book syndrome" that some books have. Natasha really pulls you into their story from the beginning, and you are just immediately hooked and in love with all things Eversea.

This was  fabulous little read that I couldn't put down. We had Jack's point of view in places, but I did wish for more of his point of view, as I didn't quite think it was enough for the story that was being told. It was however wonderfully written and paced very well for what needed to be told. The ending was perfect for Jack and Keri Ann and tied their story and relationship up in a neat little bow that I will stay with me for a long time.

There isn't  a lot I can say without gushing. All I will say is that if you haven't read Natasha's first book, Eversea yet then I suggest you pick that one up and then pick up Forever, Jack afterward. I most definitely feel that no-one can really be disappointed with either or with Jack Eversea himself.

5 sea turtle stars from me :) (you'll understand the sea turtle reference when you read the books).

Forever, Jack (Eversea #2) by Natasha Boyd
EXCERPT

Jack wasn’t wearing his ball cap, and the breeze ruffled his darker, longer hair.
It seemed laughable now, that I would have waited until tomorrow morning to find out what he was doing back here. I cocked my head. “You realize this qualifies as seriously creepy.”
I thought I saw his mouth lift slightly on one side.
“I couldn’t sleep and thought walking would help. And well, I ended up here.” Jack shrugged, his hands still wedged in his jeans. His soft, deep voice that I knew so well, that the world knew so well, was a smooth melody over the jagged rasping of the cicadas. “I didn’t know you’d be awake.”
You just showed back up in my life, how could I be sleeping? I bit down, holding my teeth together to keep from inviting him in. “Why couldn’t you sleep?” I asked eventually.
“Why couldn’t you?” he returned.
My skin got warm. “I was sleeping.”
Barely.
I imagined I saw his eyes narrow. “But Jazz texted and woke me,” I added. Not technically a lie.
Jack nodded, pursing his lips and rocked back on his heels. I could see more details now that my eyes were accustomed to the night and the clouds continued clearing the sky. He was wearing dark jeans and a snug dark t-shirt. His eyes hadn’t left me. I reached up and smoothed my hair, tucking an errant strand back in the direction of my messy braid, wondering what on earth I looked like after tossing and turning for the last few hours.
“Stop.”
I paused.
“You’re beautiful.”
My blood pressure rose. I clamped my jaw tight again. My upbringing dictated I thank him, but a wave of anger, no ... make that pure and utter pissed-off-ness, almost choked me. “You can’t even see me,” I snorted. “Nice try. What do you want anyway?”
“I don’t need to see you to know you’re beautiful.”
Well, didn’t that knock an oyster out of its shell? What was he playing at? “Seriously, what do you want, Jack? You need someone to buy your groceries or something?” My acidic tone left no doubt about how I felt.
His shoulders moved almost imperceptibly, and I had the thought he’d either let out a long sigh or he was at a loss as to what to say, and was about to give up and turn around. “Can I come in?” he asked so quietly, I almost didn’t hear him. “I’d like to talk to you.”

Eversea, a love story, is a Winter Rose Unpublished Contest FINALIST 2013. Emilia Pisani of Simon & Schuster (judge) says "Great Southern Flavor!" and "Jack is an alluring leading man!"

An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.

A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.

A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever.

When his co-star and real-life girlfriend is caught cheating on him with her married and much older director, A-list hottie, Jack Eversea, finds himself in sleepy Butler Cove, South Carolina. Jack hopes the sultry southern heat in this tiny coastal Lowcountry town will hide him not only from the tabloids and his cheating girlfriend, but his increasingly vapid life and the people who run it. He doesn’t count on meeting Keri Ann Butler.

Keri Ann has relied on herself so long, dealing with her family’s death and the responsibilities of keeping up her family's historic mansion, that boys and certainly the meager offering of eligible boys in Butler Cove, have never figured into her equation. But fate has other plans. Suddenly face to face with the man who played the movie role of her favorite fictional character, Jack has Keri Ann yearning for everything she has previously avoided ... and Jack must decide whether this funny, sassy girl is worth changing his life for, before his mistakes catch up to him.

The Review: Received an ARC of this from the author Natasha Boyd and I'm so glad I accepted this to read!!!  I absolutely loved it. I really couldn't get enough.

I was pretty much sucked into this book. There are very few New Adult books out there that deal with a celebrity and a small town girl falling in love, but these are actually some of my favourite versions because they’re every girls dream right? Ok maybe not all girls but some of us would like to be wooed by our favourite (hot) movie star.

The story itself it well written and thought out, the characters are great, we have some awesome secondary characters that I simply couldn't get enough in the book.

Natasha has managed to write a great love story, there was so much sexual tension in this book that I was SCREAMING at them to just do it already! It wasn't just that though,  Jack and Keri Ann had great chemistry, to which started out a friendship and one helping the over stay concealed from the outside world gradually turned into a love so strong that you’d think nothing could break them apart. Pffft….there wouldn't be a story if that happened. But I won’t say more about that.

I very much spent a lot of the time just focused on everything and trying to see how it all played out; although some parts became a little predictable it honestly didn't detract from the story itself. Natasha has managed to create a fabulous story, with two great lovers who go through so much in their own way and although there was a cliffy I have faith they’ll come out on the winning side!

Eversea is a great new book and Natasha has done a FANTASTIC job at bringing all the characters to life. I could really feel myself right there in the scene with them. There are great descriptive references to the surroundings and you really feel like you’re right there.

There are some wonderful moments between Jack and Keri Ann and although it’s a while before they like, totally get naked and do it, it is so so worth the wait because it’s there, it’s magical and it’s hot.

So if you’d like a book that’s full of vibrant characters, swoon (fracking hot) males that leave you hot under the collar, and just generally a book that leaves you wanting so much more, then pick this book up!

I cannot WAIT for book 2, so Natasha, girl, get writing I need more Jack! A very very solid 4 stars from me :)

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Eversea Teaser:

“Keri Ann? Please ... please open the door. I really need to talk to you.”  What the heck was he doing out there in the rain? Obviously, I was going  to have to let him in. I could feel mortification and it’s crimson tide crawling up my chest to my neck.  Jazz shrugged with an apologetic ‘this is your mess, I have no clue how to  help you here’ look on her face. “Thanks!” I hissed at her.
“Keri Ann! Open the Goddamn door ... please?” Jack’s voice broke over the last word and my shoulders slumped.  Jazz rolled her eyes.
I opened the door as a huge gust of wind blew in and wrenched it out of  my hands. It swung back hard banging against the wall. And there stood the tall  looming shadow of Jack, hands on either side of the doorframe, in jeans and a  dark wet t-shirt that clung to his body. Water streamed down his beautiful face.
“For the love of shrimp n’ grits, girl,” I heard Jazz murmur next to me as  we both took in the archangel standing on the threshold. “Good luck.”
I shivered.
