Dusty Reads (#1)

Dusty Reads is a weekly meme, hosted by Xpresso Reads featuring a book that has been sitting unread on our shelves for some time. To participate and more information, click here.

So we usually do Teaser Tuesday but we've gotten a little bored with that so we decided to take part in Dusty Reads, so this is our first post, hope you enjoy it!

Jess's Dusty Read

Angel Burn
By LA Weatherly

They're out for your soul. And they don't have heaven in mind.........

Willow knows she's different from other others, and not just because she loves tinkering with cars. Willow has a gift. She can look into the future and know people's dreams and hopes, their sorrows and regrets , just by touching them. She has no idea where this power comes from. But the assassin, Alex, does. Gorgeous, mysterious Alex knows more about Willow than Willow herself does. He knows that her powers link to dark and dangerous forces and that he's one of the few humans left who can fight them. When Alex finds himself failing in love with his sworn enemy, he discovers that nothing is as it seems, least of all good and evil.

Jess's thoughts: Ah, well, I've had this on my shelf for almost a year now. I'm not even sure why I've put it off for so long. I think it's because so many other books came out after it that I wanted to read. It's just collecting 'dust' on my shelf now. Naturally I've heard great things about it. This isn't the cover I have for it, I have a different cover. But I will get to reading it, as I have the second one collecting dust as well on my shelf. I hope to find some time to finally get to it, because I've heard nothing but amazing things about it. And I love a good angel story.

Donna's Dusty Read

Isle of Night (The Watchers)
By Veronica Wolff

Is life offering fewer and fewer options? Then join the dead.

When Annelise meets dark and seductive Ronan, he promises her a new life - if she has the courage to change the unknown.
Now, she's whisked away to a mysterious island and pitted against other female recruits to become a Watcher-girl who are partnered with vampires and assist them in their missions.
To survive and become a Watcher, Annelise has to beat out every other girl, but she's determined to do so, because to fail doesn't mean dishonor - it means death.

Donna's thoughts: Ahhh I've had this book sitting on my shelf since September and I still haven't read it. It's just screaming READ ME, READ ME! I've heard so many good things too and the story line just sounds awesome. I really hope I can make time for this book over the next few weeks! I SO WANT TO READ IT!!!

So that's it for our first ever Dusty Reads. Please let you know your thoughts on our picks this week and thank you to Xpresso Reads for hosting a fab meme. Check back next week for more.

This fits in well with the challenge to read our TBR books!

Donna, you definitely need to read Isle of Night soon, so you can tell me whether it's good or not. LOL.

Jess, I got this one from Donna, but I still need to read it, too! Definitely have to reduce my tbr-pile and get to it soon; it sounds amazing (and I loooove angel books so much).

Oh yay I'm glad you're participating. I have Angel Burn unread on mine as well I won it a while back. Apparently it's really good though.

I bought Angel (Angel Burn's U.K. / Australian title) a while back, and it's sequel, Angel Fire. Looking forward to reading them eventually.

Isle of Night looks interesting, I hadn't heard of it before.
