Dusty Reads #2

Dusty Reads is a weekly meme, hosted by Xpresso Reads featuring a book that has been sitting unread on our shelves for some time. To participate and more information, click here.

So we usually do Teaser Tuesday but we've gotten a little bored with that so we decided to take part in Dusty Reads, so this is our first post, hope you enjoy it!

Jess's Dusty Read

Awakened (House of Night #8)
By PC Cast & Kristin Cast

Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey.  Dominion over Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z.  But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there.  Being Queen would be cool, wouldn’t it?  Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either…

And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim?  The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship?  Does he betray his father or his heart?

Jess's thoughts: Raaaaaa! I went to soooo much trouble to get this particular cover because I'm in LOVE with Rephaim. It took ages to receive this cover as I ordered it from Amazon.US; and I haven't even read it yet. It's been on my shelf for a little over a year now, and I really want to get to reading it. I'm only carrying on with the series now because of Rephaim...did I mention I love him? Well, hopefully I'll get to him very soon. This series fluctuates; some good, some bad, I'm pretty sure this is a good one. Argh! I must get around to this series again. Silly distractions.

Donna's Dusty Read

Devoured
by Amanda Marrone

Megan’s twin sister Remy died in an accident nine years ago, and she’s been haunting her ever since. Knowing how crazy that sounds, Megan keeps this secret to herself and tries to lead a normal life. But when she takes a summer job at Land of Enchantment to keep an eye on her new boyfriend and his lovesick best friend, Samantha, she meets fellow employee Luke who can see Remy, too. Things get even twistier because Megan’s new friend Ari is sporting a massive crush on Luke, who seems to be developing a massive crush on Megan…making for a love triangle that’s positively possessed.

Megan wants to keep her distance from Luke, but when Remy’s visions get crazy violent; she knows she needs his help. Because someone’s definitely in danger...the only question is who?

Donna's thoughts: Ahhh I've wanted to read this for ages and I haven't been able to get around too it. Although I haven't seen many people read it or review it so I'm hoping its good. But I love the cover and I'm hoping the love triangle will live up to my expectations.

So that's our Dusty Read's for this week, what do you think? Don't forget to leave us your thoughts below.
Happy Reading!

Oh Devoured sounds great! I haven't even started the House of NIght series. I think I read the first one like 2 years ago but I didn't particularly like it.

Oooh, House of Night. :D I have read the first book and since I bought a boxed set, I have the next three sitting on my shelf and yes... they're a little bit dusty. :D

Devoured definitely sounds intriguing. I've seen it before, but not many times, so I have no idea whether it's good or bad either.

I hope you get to them soon and enjoy them. ;)
