Inhale. Exhale. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe .

The world is dead.
The survivors live under the protection of Breathe, the corporation that found a way to manufacture oxygen-rich air.

ALINA has been stealing for a long time. She’s a little jittery, but not terrified. All she knows is that she’s never been caught before. If she’s careful, it’ll be easy. If she’s careful.

QUINN should be worried about Alina and a bit afraid for himself, too, but even though this is dangerous, it’s also the most interesting thing to happen to him in ages. It isn’t every day that the girl of your dreams asks you to rescue her.

BEA wants to tell him that none of this is fair; they’d planned a trip together, the two of them, and she’d hoped he’d discover her out here, not another girl.

And as they walk into the Outlands with two days’ worth of oxygen in their tanks, everything they believe will be shattered. Will they be able to make it back? Will they want to?

The Review: "Breathing is a right, not a privilege, so I'm stealing it back."

Imagine living in a world where you have to pay just to breathe? Set in a futurist world, where the population has to pay for oxygen, Breathe is a very intriguing and unique read - one that is vivid, imaginative and quite frankly pretty scary but so, so awesome!

From the very first page I was captivated and compelled and I was amazed by how easy it was to slip into each characters head. Breathe is told by three different narrators; Alina, Quinn & Bea. Each character was fantastic and I loved seeing each of their journey's because each was completely different. Some may worry that this story wouldn't work because of how many narrators there are but, in all honestly, this is one of the reasons this book is so great.

Alina:  Definitely my favourite of the three! She really surprised me though out this book, she did dangerous things and took risks and I loved that. What I'm interested to find out about is her relationship with Abel. It hinted at a slight romance but we never truly find out what's happened with him. The real question is who is Abel? I can't wait to find out.

Quinn: He really was a lovable guy, he and Bea have been best friends for years and although Quinn is a 1 - which means he's comes from a rich family and can have pretty much anything he wants, he still tries to do so much for Bea - who comes from a poorer family. I was intrigued to find out what direction the love interest would go, to start with I was rooting for Alina and Quinn to get together but it's pretty clear he belongs with Bea.

Bea: Probably my least favourite of the three but still a very enjoyable character. I loved how determined she was and she didn't want to just sit on the side lines. I have to admit her relationship with that old lady....(can't remember her name) bored me. I couldn't understand their connection so I wasn't all that bothered with their relationship. I did love how Bea was always willing to protect Quinn from anything.

Overall, author Sarah Crossan has stepped into the world of young adult and taken it by storm. She's created a very fast-paced page turner and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

A big thank you to Bloomsbury for giving me the opportunity to review this book.

Another one that I have coming up soon. I seem to be behind everyone else lol. Great review Donna. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. It's a pity it's a little short on the romance, hopefully there's enough to get me through :)

Yaay I'm glad you enjoyed this one! :) I've read many reviews where they didn't like the characters, but I'm glad to see someone who finally did. I'm looking forward to reading this one.

I think I have to give Breathe a try (don't like the cover and didn't plan to read it so far). I don't come across books with three narrators very often. The characters sound like some who I'd enjoy to spend time with and the story does sound really good!

I have an ARC of this on my shelf, too, and can't wait to get it myself. It sounds like a slightly scary (really don't want to pay to breathe) but interesting read. I'm very glad you liked it, hun!
