Some creatures want to be found.

When Dr. Katerina Silverton travels into the Pine Barrens to make a documentary on the Jersey Devil, she doesn’t believe she will find evidence of anything supernatural. However, Kat soon finds herself face to face with the very creature she was sent into the forest to capture on film.

In Ancient Greece, the god Pan made a terrible mistake which resulted in the creation of a race of immortal satyrs. Centuries later, he lives secluded in the Pine Barrens, frightening the mortals by taking the guise of an abhorrent local monster. When a beautiful woman shows up in his forest looking for proof of his existence, Pan can’t resist revealing himself to her.

But outside forces may be manipulating them both, pushing them together for nefarious reasons. Kat must decide if she could learn to love a satyr or if his appearance is more than she can handle. Can she resist Pan’s wicked nature, or will she give into the temptations beyond her wildest fantasies?

The Review: 3.5 flowers!

Wicked Satyr Nights was a good read, I can’t say I have read much about Satyrs and I liked the change it brought.
I thought all of the characters were interesting but Pan was definitely my favourite, he had a great blend of witty humour, arrogance, cockiness, self-assuredness, confidence and smexiness all rolled into one….creating a fine love interest with a lot more going on than you think and making a great match for Katerina; for she herself could hold her own in the wit/sarcasm department and gave Pan a run for his money. Alone, these characters are okay but together… they heat up the pages with sexual tension & longing. I liked that even though there is an instant connection, they don’t just hop in the sack (even thought they both wanted to) and give us that instalove we all love to hate, I like it when they hold out, sexual tension can be fun in a book and when you add both of their sense of humours to the mix… it was.
I love the idea of the book; as I mentioned, it is about Satyrs and that is not really something I read about often but when you add to that Greek mythology….I’m in! I loved how that came about and the background behind the curse of the Satyrs. I also liked how they brought an urban legend into the story too and how they all connected. I thought the romance part of the book was good, it created some nice moments in which we get to see a different side to our characters, some were steamy, some were humorous & some quite heartbreaking but that helped to endear the reader to the characters. The story wasn’t just about finding love, it was also about why Pan found himself in his predicament and the history behind it, needless to say, there are other Satyrs and they all were made in an incident involving Pan and a couple of players in Greek mythology, there are two opposing forces, each blaming one or the other and that sets up conflict because retribution is the name of the game and one has been waiting a long time to get theirs and that brought the danger to the plot, some action and also sets up the series arc which has me very interested. We all know the Greek deities like to play with peoples lives & interfere, all in the name of fun… so expect no difference here. This was a good, different read for me, I enjoyed it a lot and will look out for the sequel.

I haven't read much on Satry but this sounds like an interesting book from your review. The first sentence of the book is catchy!
