Top 3 Favourite Books of 2013!

Hi guys, so it's the nearly the end of 2013 (how quick has this year gone?) and we here at Book Passion for Life thought it would be good to share our favourite reads for 2013 and we hope you will join us with your picks too.
Donna's Top 3!

13570854   15755296   Champion (Legend, #3)
Number 3: Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by JR Ward:
I'd been wanting to read this series FOREVER and this year, I finally got the chance...and I loved them. There were a couple that weren't my favourite but most of them that I loved. I devoured the series within a few weeks and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Number 2: Through the Looking Glass by Gena Showalter
I adored Alice in Zombieland but the sequel really look me by surprise. It was a heart-wrenching read, just because you had no idea what the outcome was going to be. I loved it!

Number 1: Champion by Marie Lu
What can I say about this series that already hasn't been said? It's amazing, heart-pounding, enthralling...well you get the picture. Champion is really my favourite read of they year. It was a read that had me sitting on the edge of my seat, filled with dread, hope and love. When I look back on the year, this is the book that stands out for me the most.
Jess's Top 3!

16116099    17449417    5199022
Number 3:  Dead Jealous by Sharon Jones
Dead Jealous was great. Not only is it set in England, but it was something totally out of my normal reading. But I loved it, I thought it was a really great read and it truly stuck with me. It's  great YA mystery/thriller book that will leave you reeling.

Number 2: Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines
I guess you were thinking an Abbi book would be at number one? Well no, it was a fantastic read, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of Abbi or her books. But one other book (or series) pipped it to the number one spot.
Number 1: The Cut & Run Series books 1-6 by Abigail Roux
Ok. Firstly, the Cut & Run number one spot goes to the entire series (I know it's cheating, but I don't care). I'd read plenty of M/M romances before this one. But this, this series truly stuck with me. Through the 6 books that are published, I was on the edge all the time. It was fabulous. If you want to get out of your comfort zone and maybe dip into some M/M romace, I suggest you start with book one of this series as it eases you into that particular romance. I guarantee if you enjoy it, you won't regret it.
Melanie's Top 3!

13605723  Crest (Ondine Quartet, #3) Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) 17622425
Number 3: Sentinel (Covenant #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout/ Crest (Ondine Quartet #3) by Emma Raveling
Ok, a joint 3rd because they are both from my favourite series’, Sentinel, I chose because it is the last in the Covenant series and it was awesome, all of us here at BPfL are huge Aiden fans and have been from the very beginning so it was great to see Alex & Aiden get their HEA.
Crest I chose because again, this is an awesome series, (Donna & I will champion this series forever because we love it so much and also the leading man Tristan) and this book really steps it up a notch and takes on a more serious feel, we only have one more book to go so everything has been set up, we get lots of reveals and I’m sooooo excited for the finale.

Number 2: Rock Chick Series by Kristen Ashley
Ok, so I know they were out before 2013 but I was only introduced to them this year and they have definitely made it into my all time favourite series ever, every time I finished one of the books, the main man was my fave only to be replaced when I read the next book but to be honest, I love them all! I go back to these time and time again and I defy anyone not to fall in love with each and every one of the Hot Bunch.

Number 1: The Broken Tomb (The War for Inisfail #2) by Kaiya Hart
This is without doubt my top book of the year, it blew me away and I couldn’t even find the words to review it other than to say it was EPIC! It truly was and I only wish that this series had more recognition because it is breathtaking, its high fantasy with a dash of romance and would appeal to so many fantasy readers if they took a chance on it so please, read it! You have no idea what you’re missing.

There are so many other books that I have loved over the year and I wish I could list them all but alas I am only allowed 3.
So that's it from us in 2013! We hope you've had just as much fun as us and we hope to see you all in 2014! Happy New Years!!
Love Donna, Jess & Mel.

I´ve only read Lover at Last and I loved the main couple, but I had issues with Xcor and I don´t even remember the name of the male from the other couple. Cool list!

Great choices ladies!! Donna I NEED to read Champion because I need to find out what happens. I havent read any of the Brotherhood nor Alice in Zombieland. Jess I need to read Dead Jealous and cant wait, I loved your review of it! Mel, I must check out the Kaiya Hart ones, I've never heard of them. I tried to narrow my books down and managed to get down to 16!! lol. It was hard to pick because I've read many great books!

Thanx Nat, I had a massive list but we could only pick 3 and I'm so indecisive about picking faves lol Definitely check out the Kaiya Hart books, if you like the type of fantasy that's like Lord of the Rings then you will like them. I had trouble with the beginning of the first book but once you get past the 20% mark it got really good and the second book was just wow!
