Jess's WoW

One Tiny Lie (Ten Tiny Breaths, #2)One Tiny Lie (Ten Tiny Breaths #2)
by K.A. Tucker
Release date: June 11th, 2013

Livie has always been the stable one of the two Cleary sisters, handling her parents' tragic death and Kacey's self-destructive phase with strength and maturity. But underneath that exterior is a little girl hanging onto the last words her father ever spoke to her. “Make me proud,” he had said. She promised she would...and she’s done her best over the past seven years with every choice, with every word, with every action.

Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan, and she’s dead set on delivering on it: Rock her classes, set herself up for medical school, and meet a good, respectable guy that she’s going to someday marry. What isn’t part of her plan are Jell-O shots, a lovable, party animal roommate she can’t say ‘no’ to, and Ashton, the gorgeous captain of the men’s rowing team. Definitely him. He’s an arrogant ass who makes Livie’s usually non-existent temper flare and everything she doesn’t want in a guy. Worse, he’s best friends and roommates with Connor, who happens to fits Livie’s criteria perfectly. So why does she keep thinking about Ashton?

As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades, career aspirations she no longer thinks she can handle, and feelings for Ashton that she shouldn’t have, she’s forced to let go of her last promise to her father and, with it, the only identity that she knows.
Jess's Thoughts: Donna and I adored the first book in this series. I can't wait to read this! I love the cover, more than I loved the first one. I'm so excited to read Livie's story. I really liked her as a character in book one, and I honestly can't wait to meet Ashton this lovely captain of the rowing team...mmm.

Donna's WoW
The 5th Wave (The Fifth Wave, #1)
=The 5th Wave
by Rick Yancey
Release date: May 7th, 2013

The Passage meets The Hunger Games in a gripping new series from Carnegie-shortlisted Rick Yancey. After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one. Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave. On a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, until Cassie meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan may be her only hope for rescuing her brother and even saving herself. Now she must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up. Cassie Sullivan gets up.

Donna's thoughts: You know, I saw this book around a few weeks ago and I wasn't interested AT ALL - I don't know why. But now I keep seeing it everywhere and everyone loves it, I NEED TO TRY IT!! FACT!

I've seen the cover for One Tiny Lie around a lot and I can't help but be intrigued by it. I also love the plot for The 5th Wave! Great picks!

I still didn't read Ten Tiny Breaths yet, and I've seen The 5th Wave on many blogs in the past few weeks, either it was on their weekly book haul post or a review or waiting on Wednesday. I want to read it, but because of all the hype, I'm scared too since I usually don't enjoy many books that so popular even before they release, although it does sound interesting.

Great picks both! I haven't read Ten Tiny Breaths, but definitely noticed this cover when it was recently revealed.
The 5th Wave has been getting awesome early reviews. I have it waiting for me on my Kindle, just begging to be read. I've promised myself I could start it this weekend.
