Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, the ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

The Review: “Even in the future the story begins with once upon a time.”

Oh, my stars! Who would have thought Cinderella and Cyborg's go well together? Well I never thought it would but Cinder is so, so good!

I honestly can't believe I've put off from reading this book for so long and yea, I do have a reason. I'm finding I'm becoming more impatient for books that I'd rather wait until I have the first two books waiting, I'm also finding I'm enjoying them all the more because I haven't got that long gap of waiting too and this is why I waited so long to read Cinder.

If you haven't guess already, I loved it! I loved Cinder, I loved Kai, I loved Peony - oh sweet Peony, I loved Iko, yea I loved pretty much everything and everyone about this book. You would think Cinderella's story has been played out but honestly, it never gets old and it never could be old. All the while I was reading this I could just see the movie Ever After staring Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott playing out in my mind and I pictured Anjelica Huston playing the the step-mother - everything was just fantastic.

Kai and Cinder get so many stolen moments together but they were moments that hid so many secrets. Cinder is hiding many secrets from Kai and that stops her from opening up to him. She's worried he won't like her because of her being a Cyborg. But what Cinder doesn't know is that Kai really starts to care about her. They have so many intense scenes together I was literally bursting from the seams. I wanted Kai to figure out who Cinder really was and I was gutted he doesn't. I'm hoping the second book holds reveals it to him.

“I know this is stupid, but part of me felt like if I could come see you today, if I could convince you to go with me tonight, then maybe I could still change
things. It's dumb, I know. It's not like Levana cares if I, you know, might have actual feelings for someone.”

All in all, Cinder definitely lived up to my expectations and I want more! Luckily enough I have Scarlet - the sequel to Cinder already and I'm reading it as we speak.

A motivating discussion is definitely worth comment. There's no doubt that that you ought to publish more about this issue, it may not be a taboo matter but typically people do not talk about such subjects. To the next! Kind regards!!

I do not leave a response, but after reading a
few of the remarks on "A Review for Cinder (Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer".
I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. Is it simply me or do some of the remarks appear as if they are left by brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you are writing at other online sites, I'd like to follow you.

I'm glad you enjoyed this so much Donna. This wasn't something I thought I'd be interested but with so many great reviews I decided I'd eventually give it a go. But at this stage, I think I'll wait a little longer, closer to the release of the other books. Is there four in this series? I can't wait to get to know Cinder and Kai. Awesome review Donna :)
