Meet Celaena Sardothien.
Beautiful. Deadly. Destined for greatness.
In the dark, filthy salt mines of Endovier, an eighteen-year-old girl is serving a life sentence. She is a trained assassin, the best of her kind, but she made a fatal mistake: she got caught.
Young Captain Westfall offers her a deal: her freedom in return for one huge sacrifice. Celaena must represent the prince in a to-the-death tournament—fighting the most gifted thieves and assassins in the land. Live or die, Celaena will be free. Win or lose, she is about to discover her true destiny. But will her
assassin’s heart be melted?

THRONE OF GLASS CHARACTER BIOS
Nox Owen: Known as the “Master Thief of Perranth,” Nox made a name for himself at an early age, rising up from one of the countless city orphans to become one of the most talented thieves in Terrasen. After Adarlan’s conquest, Nox turned his talents toward tormenting Perranth’s new rulers (viceroys and generals sent in from Adarlan), and has been rumored to occasionally see to it that those stolen goods make their way into the hands of Terrasen’s rebels. He was sponsored in the king’s competition by the new Minister of Terrasen (a native himself), and was granted immunity if he lost. His motives for accepting the Minister’s offer, however, remain unknown.
Likes: Stealing things. Pretty women. Being far too clever.
Dislikes: Getting caught. Adarlan’s rule. Crafty army generals who set traps for him.
***
Kaltain Rompier: An eighteen year old courtier from Bellhaven, Kaltain has had her sights set on the royal crown for as long as she can remember. Her family is absurdly wealthy, which is what initially caught Duke Perrington’s eye (and her beauty played no small role, either). Though she strings along Duke Perrington, she has every intention of marrying Dorian Havilliard some day. In fact, she BELIEVES that she should be queen, and she’ll do anything to ensure that it happens. Even if it means leaving a trail of bodies in her wake.
Likes: Dorian Havilliard. Opium. Scheming. Wealth. Ridiculously large litters to haul her across the kingdom. Crowns.
Dislikes: Lillian Gordaina (AKA Celaena Sardothien). Nehemia Ytger. Anyone who is a threat to her own ambitions.
***
Duke Perrington: The King of Adarlan’s right-hand man and cousin, the Duke of Perrington rules the duchy of Morath, a large and powerful bit of territory in the south of Adarlan. Vicious and cunning, he’ll do anything to ensure that the king’s agenda goes off without a hitch—even if his methods are beyond immoral. He claims to be infatuated with Lady Kaltain, but even Kaltain isn’t sure of the Duke’s true motives in courting her.
Likes: Power. Kaltain Rompier. The King of Adarlan. Being a jerk.
Dislikes: Criminals. Rebels. Anyone not from Adarlan.
***
Cain: A soldier born & raised in the infamously cruel tribes of the White Fang Mountains (above the city of Anielle), Cain’s own brand of brutality was enough to get him noticed by Duke Perrington. Not much is known about Cain’s past, but his unnatural strength and ruthlessness made him the duke’s first pick in the king’s competition. Strength and speed aside, Cain seems to be clever in his own way—and his part in the king’s plans remains to be seen.
Likes: Secret knowledge that he has no business learning. The White Fang Mountains.
Dislikes: Any threat to his own goals (AKA every competitor in the king’s competition). Spoiled lordlings who rule Anielle.
***
The King of Adarlan: The tyrant-conqueror of many kingdoms, who is still hell-bent on conquering the rest of Erilea. People across the continent are still puzzled as to how he acquired so much power ten years ago—right before he marched into Terrasen to begin his conquest. No one except for Duke Perrington knows what his plans and motives truly are—though it’s far to assume that it’s nothing pleasant.
Likes: Being a tyrant. Enslaving the world. Destroying lives and kingdoms.
Dislikes: Just about everything.
